What do you do for a living?

Russ

Im not saying its bad to be in the military. I had a sour experience. I went took the asvab(?) and was told I could choose anything I wanted for a career I agreed to sign If they could get me flying (AIR FORCE) of course they didnt tell me I had to have four years of colledge to even be an officer ( something else I dont agree with) anyways I had a suspision something wasnt right. Me and two buddies went to the MEPS (? physical and papers before boot camp) and it just didnt seem right. Long story short the other two guys got shoe horned into firefighting and aircraft refueling both were extremely bitter as that was not the jobs they wanted either. Anyhow I really think for some its a good deal. live for free, get paid, learn something and get money to go to school when your done. Perhaps I was just "done wrong" by my recruiter and figured it out at the last second.I have had many friends go in and be fine with it. I on the other hand wouldnt. I know now that you can work details out in writing with recruiters but most kids dont think they can. So I hope I didnt offend you just voicing my experience or so called lack thereof. Best of luck to you and all of the others currently fighting for democracy.

no problem

No problem. Thanks for explaining your view and yes people don't always end up with what they were originally promised.

Russ

Im a New York City Detective assigned in the Bed Stuy/Crown Heights area of Brooklyn. Probably one of the toughest, deadliest areas within our borders. I breed these Corns as a hobby and without them, I would really have that much more stress in my life. I can come home from work, get out of the suit and shoot down to the snake room for a few hours to forget about all the nightmares I have in my head. Its a good healthy way of blowing off steam and taking my mind off things. If there are any other Law Enforcement snake breeders out there, drop me an email. I would love to here from you and have often though about starting up a contact list for members or the service and former members of the service who breed snakes. Thanks

Very Cool!

I love reading what other people do for a living!

I am a Facilities/Support manager for a large law firm here in Florida. I'm responsible for the people that work in our copy/mail center (7 people) and I handle most vending contracts, lease contracts for copiers printers fax machines, etc. I'm aslo responsible for safty, security etc. It's a pretty good job, but I want to do something with animals full time. I also want to get the heck out of Florida! Born and raised here and I hate it! Hot all the time, the land is flat as a pancake...I wish I had the opportunity to leave this state...I can't stand to think that I am going to die here!

I also have a pretty nice and growing snake collection!

lol...

I'd probably trade you, for the chance to be in a nice climate close to the ocean.
I'm in Cheyenne, WY, and it's desert dry, windy all the time, and the mountains are only 40 minutes away.

I love the mountains, but it's so often cold, or windy, usually both.

(my job is stay at home mom, which is hectic and tiring, but not all that interesting to read about).

I'm a member of Uncle Sam's Big Green Machine. (Of course now it's more like the "Big Tan Machine") ;)

Well, this is a good a time as any to admit my secret....you'll all hate me after this, but...I am a tax examiner for the IRS.

I am a cosmetologist, but im taking the first year of my daughters life off to spend time with her. I am also a military wife and thats a whole job in its self;) My hubby is a sniper in the marine corp (always gone!)

But right now i'm a lil gym rat working at a local tennis & athletic club

Drizzy at least you'll always have a job, besides everyone is just jealous of your POWER. LOL

I'm a full time Jesus Freak
a full time father and husband
a full time student pastor
and a full time seminary student
in that order and I have the bad grades to prove it.
I even get to sleep sometimes :boring:
Peace Paul

How cool. Two of us (even though 3000 miles apart) both painting contactor's who produce corns? Any chance you do school programs with your snakes and box in your spare time?!? :) What are high end interiors going for per square in your neck of the woods? You'd probably laugh at rates here, if wages/gas prices/etc. are any indication!

I am a 24/7, full time mom. My job never quits, doesn't pay financially, but is very rewarding. I wouldn't trade it for the world. Here is a picture of my Children.

I work for Manaheim Auto Auctions in Butler PA. I work in the "bull pen" or the office. We do title work and the accounting for the auction. It is VERY interesting to see what these cars actually sell for, compared to what the dealers charge US on their lots. I also get to meet alot of interesting people from all over who fly in to our auctions to buy cars. They come from as far away as Poland.
I am trying to get a very small snake breeding business going on the side, with my love of the cornsnake. We need some new corn blood in this area.
