We are breeding our corns for the first and have done tons of research. We always put them on paper towels, and I believe that they have bred twice, but not sure. Two times we have put them together there was a tiny smear of something, but it was completely clear, and a tiny amount. The closest thing I can think of is it looked like the slime that a snail or slug leaves behind... Yesterday there were two spots of this and a dab of blood (not even a full drop) in each, which after reading leads me to believe that they have mated, and the female may have pulled away. Just curious what you experienced breeders think.
We have never actually seen them lock up, anytime someone watches, they look at us, so we try to give them privacy. I am pretty sure they did because of the and I stress TINY amount of slime ( I have to pick up the paper towels and rotate them in the light to see it), but because we didn't put either of them in brumation this year, I would think it is too early. Let me know what you think!
