What is your cornsnakes name?

Snake Names

My fiance named by corn snake Aztec. That's a pretty cool name. I estimate her to be about 4-5 weeks old. I also have a ball python named Diablo who's about 4 years old. :crazy02:

well honestly, neither of mine have names. i've had a bunch of bugs as pets for over a year before getting my first snake..and i've never named any of them..so i guess that just carried over into snakes. besides..if i gave them names, i'd have to give all the rest of them names...and thats a lot of names to remember hah.

Let me see..

Theres my normal female, Monev (venom, backwards),
Okeetee female, Nroca (a corn, backwards)
Creamsicle male, Ekans (snake, backwards)
***Please note I was 10 yrs old when naming the above!***
Candy cane female, Fade (her markings fade towards the end)
Carolina female, Delta (For no reason what so ever)
Amber female, Amber (seemed obvious)
and last but not least, my newly aquired; Snow male, Bud (Bud the stud), who is looking to be a female, just need to probe to confirm. Anyone else ever taken the 'experts' word for it lol.

I added three more corns this weekend so thought I would throw them in here. Didn't want to quote my original post - too long.

Newbies from this weekend:

Ballantine - Bloodred female (she is going to be part of the group with Kashmir and Zoso.) For those of you familiar with Led Zeppelin - on their fourth album which is fondly known as Zoso, all the band members chose "symbols" to put on the cover instead of calling it LZ IV. The symbol that Jimmy Page chose looks like the word Zoso hence the album name, but the symbol that John Bonham chose looked like the emblem for Ballantine beer. Thought it would be a cute name and fit the "group" I have.

Rio - Caramel female to pair up with Ripley.

Endymion - Ghost male to pair up with Selene. (In mythology, Endymion was the mortal lover of the goddess Selene)

My corn is named Steve, though I didn't plan on it. Originally it was going to be Solid Snake after the main character in my boyfriend's favorite game. But as I was pulling him from the tank at the petstore, the guy (obviously afraid of snakes) says, "So you gonna name him Steve after Steve Irwin?". Well no but the name stuck so his official name is Steven Crikey. And since some people have listed other current animals I will to. First off the two dogs, Kayla Ann and Emily Grace; the recently departed rats Karma, Zen, Fayth, Penny Lane and Janes Addiction; the betta Akuma; and the rehabed squirrel Charlie (in the trees).

My snake's name is Slithor, pronouncing the last part like the word or.
LOL I remember a cartoon WAAAAY back there was a character named that. I think maybe from the Thunder cats??? Shoot I can't really remember but thats where it came from :)

My Amel boy is Calvin
My rootbeer girls are Kate and Keeper
My abberant motleys are Chelsea and Katrina (soon to be changed officially to Kessler)
My abberent amel motley is Kismet
My bloodred boys are Sniper and Snafu
My fire girl is Sangria
My classics are Horcrux, Havoc and Hatteras
My avalanche girl is Shiznit
and last but never least my granite motley is Steve Irwin.

I've been a fan of learning foreign languages for as long as I remember (it helps to grow up in a bilingual household! :) ) and I also love to play with words...so, my naming game started with my cats, 6 years ago:

Voxie ("vox" in Latin, "voice") -- because he is a chatterbox!
Strasti ("strast" in Russian, "passion") -- this cat is such a lover, not a fighter ;)
Then, a few years later, I met Aleph in a shelter and I knew that he had to be mine because of his name: Aleph is the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet...

Then, I got leopard geckos, and I didn't like the original names for them, and my boyfriend is Mexican, so we gave them Spanish names: Flaca (because she was so seriously skinny! Now she's my Flaquita Gordita Bonita Perezosita -- my Skinny Chubby Pretty Lazy girl!) and Rosa (because she has a pink underbelly).

My snakes came next...I named Maizie (amel) as such because of the connection between maize/corn & I thought that she was a girl (which she may still be, who knows...) and then Fritz (anery)...as far as I'm aware, Fritz isn't a word used in conversation -- it's just a name, but I knew that I needed a German name finally because that's what I grew-up with and my original German name for Strasti got botched when I found out that he is a boy! So, Fritz he became...and it's just so cute to say "Fritzi!" or "Fritzchen!" I think he likes it...;)

Finally, my baby beardie...after all of that, I finally used the language that has long been my favorite, French...her name is Jolie because she is a "pretty" girl. :)

And that's my mini multicultural zoo. :)

i like to name my pets either after gods or a foreign name or a book character....

Loki(bearded dragon)- norse god, a trickster...planned his brother Balders murder
Nani(leopard gecko)- japanese, means "what"

Nyxx(Ball Python)-means "night" in greek, is also for the goddess of the night
Terra(normal corn snake)- means "earth"
Serg(sunglow corn snake)- sleigh driver for the Banacors in the book Cold Fire by Tamora Pierce
Divana(Dumeril's Boa)- pronounced Dee-van-a comes from the siberian name Divan(dee-van) which means "beautiful"

As far as names go I am pretty lame. My american pit bull (11 now) I named Tongha after the king of and she is a princess who must find her sword... Ivory (snow corn) because, well... "Lola" because I didn't know if she was a he. "Little Sister Kitty" because she was a sister to a brother and she is also known as "LTK" (long tail kitty). Then we have "Lake", that is my son's cat and we don't know what else to call it. I rescued her from Lake Nawhatzl and as much as I can't stand her she needs a name. Maizey the RTB, I just thought it sounded good. Echo, my BP, I wasn't brave enough to name my son that. My sons name is Hayden Kane but I wanted to name him Sylas or Echo. I was doped up after the birth and out voted. My daughters name received no resistance "Alexa" not Alexandria not Alexis etc. Just perfectly Alexa. I thought it would be cool to call a girl "Alex" but she is Alexa through and through i couldnt' possibly call her "ALEX". If I could name another girl child her name would be "Araya". I am so glad you started a name thread 'cause' I could go on and on....
Cheers!

Angela

Buddy: Female normal het anery - random

You may be wondering why the above three have names of the opposite gender... well let's say that during my first year of breeding, I found out that they were 1.2 NOT 2.1 when my supposed "male" layed eggs. :bang:
