What to do when a young/small girl double clutches

I'm just wondering how long they can stay in there without poking their little noses out to breathe again?

As long as they need to. They can live like that for days. But I expect you'll have a little pile of babies in the morning.

That's good to know. They are taking their time so far. Still only 2 eggs have pipped, and I've only seen each of those 2 noses once for probably less than a second.

I think all the pipper pics that get posted with noses or more sticking out made me expect that once they had slit the egg, they would have their noses out most of the time.

That's usually hours into slitting their egg. And they'll pull back in if alarmed.

Well...this morning still only 2 eggs have pipped. These 2 are sticking their noses out....slightly. I have taken pics but it barely shows up. They are testing my patience!

The less you look, the faster they will come out! When the first pips appear, I try to restrain myself to two or three checks during waking hours. Then once they get going, I check more often.

Easier said than done!
