whats the biggest prey item you've fed?

what is the biggest "thing" a full grown corn can eat? is it a large rat, or is that to big?, and what should my corn be eating, it's 52 inches, and about as thick as a hot dog, i usually feed 1-2 mice a week, can he handle more?
 
Bigger meals aren't always best, as they are harder to digest. The prey item should be no more than 1 1/2 times the snakes width or you risk regurg.

My biggest boy gets large thawed adult mice and he's doing wonderfully. He turned 13 this month.
 
One to two mice a week is fine, and you could spread that out further if you wanted, like every 10-14 days. Captive kept corns lead a life of leisure; there's only so far they can crawl, so they do a lot of nothing, just curled up digesting the last easy meal it didn't have to hunt for. A good eating corn can get a varied diet, such as small rats, baby quail or chickens, etc. There is always the reported risk that it will find one prey item it prefers and not go back to what you may have been feeding it. Fwiw I have one corn that does not like mice, but loves rat fuzzies and week old quail. My other's eat mice, with an ocassional small rat or baby quail...
 
A large adult corn can take maybe a small rat, around 65g max. I prefer to breed and feed my corns African soft furred rats as they never get much bigger than 65-70g or so.

big isnt better

the bigger the prey the harder it is for the snake to digest it. i agree with what other people have said. i either feed my snake 3 mice or 2 rats/ gerbils every 14 days. this is a 4ft corn snake and he is living quite happily on this diet.
 
never heard of those Flagg... then again I do not really look into rats much. I have large common fancys from the petstore that have been my breeders for about 2 years now... actually I have cycled through them and there aren't any from the first group.

I may have to look into those little buggers!
 
My big guy (he's 2.5yrs old and is ALREADY 120cm and still growing) has eaten one HUGE adult mouse before, I've never seen such a big mouse! But usually he gets a normal adult mouse a week or a big rat fuzzy (though he's suddenly decided he doesn't eat rats anymore! EISH!)
