Where is a Snakes Heart?

Seems I read to let them make sure their swallow goes past their heart. Well, I have no idea where that is! I let it go pretty far down before I put them back, but just another curiosity!

About a quarter of the way down. Sometimes you can see the dark shadow of it in a hatchling. You can hear it with a stethoscope.

Here is a diagram, taken from Merriam-Webster visual online dictionary. I know the anatomy is that of a venomous snake, but all snakes have similar anatomies!

Funny Fatman! :)

I only wondered b/c I had read that about the eating. I read so much then later on think about something that I read and as you can tell, I'm a question asker!

I figured he had swallowed past his heart today when I let him back in the tank. That diagram is cool.
