Who's got the oldest corn on the forum?

I read a while back these guys can live up to 20 years. I'm wondering if anyone on the forum has any corns that are up there in years? Does anyone know if any of our members have any that are 10, 15, 0r 20 years old?

I had a WC emoryi that was collected in 92, he was probably 4-5 at the time, he died in 08. He was pretty old.

My Jonesy was 21 this summer (my avatar pic). I'm sure there are other pensioners around here.

My boy Calvin is 14. He was my first corn. He weighs over 1400 grams even though he only gets one mouse every 10 days.

WOW! 1400 grams!!

Do they get that big in the wild, or do they not live long enough with all the wildlife factors?

I'll see if I can get him to co-operate - he's a bit set in his ways these days. Rather like an old dog, he has his favourite place to nap. And he naps a LOT. And if he's disturbed from his nap - even to eat - then he makes his feelings known! Love him to bits. He's always been "his own snake" and age has really just exaggerated his preferences.

My oldest is also 2 years old but Im sure that snakes that are well cared for can live well past 20. So I will be in my 40s before my snakes die... Thats an odd thought. Im not really sure what I will do when that day comes. To Op, nice idea, Im sure there are some really old snakes out there.

Bethany, Personally, I think he does look a little large and would feed him once every 14-21 days.

I have a late 06, so I guess she turns 3 this year. I dont know where Im going to house them when they are 1400 grams though LOL

We had red eared sliders that my parents bought me when I was 7, and they are still alive too, they have to be 17 or 18 now.

Thanx Mike, he is a chub... I wonder if old snakes gain weight like us old people when their metabolism slows down.....
He will only get 2 more meals and then is going down for a nice 3 month rest with no snacks in between :)

My female snow is supposed to be 11yrs.
Was bought as a baby by the last owners, I've had her 6 months and she's almost doubled in weight (was underweight before)

He sounds great!

I would have to agree. My oldest (an 05 butter) was starting to get fat so I cut her back to once every 14 days.

To the OP: In Kathy Love's book, she says the record for the longest living corn snake is something like 34 years. I may be off by a few years, as I don't have the book handy and I haven't read it in a bit.
