Why is every normal an Okeetee or Miami now?

*LOL* Okeetee or not Okeetee??

That qualifies as an Okeetee-phase, in my opinion. Without knowing its origin or ancestry, no one here can tell you if it's a real Okeetee (locality). If you catch a Miami-looking adult at the Hunt Club, it's an Okeetee...

I believe it's okay to call it a 100% corn morph, as long as you say very clearly that it's a hybrid.

That's an oxymoron. If it's not 100% corn, then it can't be a 100% corn morph. It doesn't matter anyway-- has anyone ever seen a snake labeled "100% corn morph"? I didn't think so...

I can't agree with that at all, A creamsicle stripe is not a stripe. It's lovely in it's own right, but it's different.

Oh no, I think creamsicles are a bit different, as that's the accepted name for a hybrid amel. But for example, a Rat snake stripe corn could be Striped corn, 50% Rat snake hybrid.

I also meant that it's okay to say that it's a SNon-Hybrid (i.e. 100%) corn morph as long as you label it as 50% hybrid.

I want to thank you for starting this thread. I have had this aurgument with a friend of mine who owns a pet store. She says that the "Miami Phase" is another name for Normal.

She has no clue. Hearing that makes me think that she must believe that all corns come from around miami.

I'll fess up Dean, I am playing the Devils Advocate.. That girl ( above posted picture ) I know is an Okeetee, tied directly to the Jasper Hunt Club, doesn't look exactly like what "text book" okeetees look like.. *shrugs* I have been finding there are a lot of Arm Chair experts out there lately.. Admitedly, I have not been around to long myself, but getting to know better each and every day..

Regards.. Tim of T and J

Why? The addition of hybrid bloodlines would most likely lose the qualities that define the morph.
I don't know if anyone's crossed a cream with a lavender and then tried to recover the lavender morph in subsequent generations, but I can't really see why they'd want to:shrugs:

Actually, she has about as much of a clue as you do. "Miami Phase" indicates that the snake conforms to a certain physical description, and does not imply locality at all.

Please, I'm begging you, don't participate in this thread any further unless you have a question. Your opinions are uninformed. I started this thread to get the opinions of those who already know what they're talking about in regards to Okeetees and Miamis. You don't.

Well, fine then, I'll leave it at that. But one other question: which oppinions were uninformed?

*slaps fore head.. * You sure your 18..?? I think they were politely telling that your best advice has been verbatium from some other source at best..

which oppinions were uninformed?

The ones that are obvious jibberish and nonsense.. I think the best thing you can do is slam your fingers in the keyboard tray a few times, making them fingers ache so much you can't type.. Then before you decide to post again, stop and think about how much you really don't know about the subject at hand, so you can have some face to save later....

I know I'm getting old but he was 13 last week, I thought but hey my mind is going. Good advice though Tim.

I'm young and have no known mental problems... and I think you're perfectly sane.

I could have sworn Susan was the old crazy cat lady.. *shrugs :shrugs: *

Comparing my Love Okeetee to my 'Okeetee phase', shows why I hiss 'normal' at Nellie. It's not her fault, she's lovely in her own right, but she'll never develop the colours that I was after.
I don't regret buying Nellie, I'd still snap up a 'normal' with borders like hers if I saw another, but I'm glad I've got the real deal too:)
