I can, Washington, Adams, Jefferson, Madison, Monroe, Adams, Jackson, Van Buren..., Reagan. And it pretty much stops there. Of course, there are the obvious few in that ... zone that should be excluded.

Care to back that up with specific examples? I'd be interested in seeing which of these rich, aristocratic, slave-owning, entrepeneuriakl business-owning politicians NEVER took advantage of an opportunity to shine. I would like a sp3ecific situation, well-documented, where each of those past presidents was offered an opportunity for a Positive Public Relations Field Day, and they turned it down in favor of honesty and integrity. Specific examples for EACH person you mentioned please.

And don't just give me "It wasn't their character" unless you personally met them and hung out with, and KNOW their character to the point which you can accurately state that.

Before you answer...try to remember that our "history" is a story...a tall tale of brave men who fought rugged natives and tyrranical governments to escape persecution and establish a New World. You are, of course, well aware of the fact that this is not remotely what our actual history was like...right?

I know...Washington had his cherry tree. And Reagan had the Psychic Friends Network. Go figure...:nope:

I didn't realize that you hated America so much, I am sorry for you. And, realize that debating with you is as pointless as arguing with a puddle of mud. Have a great day.

Are you saying that poor behaviors by others in the past justifies further bad behavior in the present and future? If so, then modern slavery would be justified since their was past slavery by your OWN arguments, right? I can't accept that view. I'm disgusted that anyone can accept that argument as valid.

Even if others DID take credit for "creating" census jobs, that is NO JUSTIFICATION for another administration doing it again. Wrong is wrong. ....but, if the current one DOES take credit when others haven't, then that is even MORE wrong. It would just shows how scummy the current guys may actually be.

I notice you put RICH in your list of reasons for hating America. Why do you hate people that work harder to be more successful that others that don't? Have you already come out and admitted you believe in the communist ideal and I just missed that post?

How you lept to that conclusion from anything I've posted is beyond me. I sure hope you don't teach English and Reading Comprehension. You shuoldn't accept that view. It IS disgusting. It's not something that ANYONE said in this post. Much like the drivel you "responded to" in your last post...it was never said.

I'm seeing a trend with this topic...

What I am saying is that THIS situation, which has not yet occured, seems to be FAR less of a mis-representation of one's accomplishments than what previous Presidents have done. There is no justification, no excuses, no profferings of righteousness. Just a simple statement of opinion that this non-existent situation seems far less "wrong" than previous situations which DID occur.

Ridiculously easy to comprehend, from my point of view...:shrugs:

Still not more wrong than claiming victory for a war we are still fighting. Still not more wrong than claiming victory in a terrorist hunt that is still ongoing. Still not more wrong than taking credit for any other wrongly credited PR scam in US History.

It also still hasn't happened...

I didn't make a list of reasons to hate America. I made a list of reasons why I do not buy that any of those people listed were as altruistic as Mike seems to think they were. Buig difference. More of that stellar reading comprehension, I presume...

Ands I don't hate anyone. Actually that's not true...I'm starting to hate you, and everything you fall for But that's got nothing to do with America...

A little reading comprehension will go a long way KJUN. You might wanna give it a try...

:laugh01: It's always "pointless" when you haven't got a valid point or a valid justification for your relentless and bogus arguments...

I don't hate America. I love America. Greatest country in the world. In fact, I would argue that I love it more than you do. How you might ask?

I am wiling to fight to make this country buigger, better, stronger and more solid than it has been in the past. You would rather go back to a day and age where the elite ruled over the poor, the rich owned everything, and the poor get nothing but the scraps that the elite allowed them to scavenge.

Seems to me that YOU hate this country enough to let it sink to the bottom of the political cesspool it has become. Me? I'd rather change it...make it better...help it to get back on top where it belongs...

It's no wonder you two haven't yet realized that this "political atrocity" hasn't happened...:nope:

KJUN I don't hate America, I don't hate my own country, I just don't find it in me to believe that any politician is a totally trustworthy, altruistic person. In fact altruism itself carries rewards in the form of positive regard, self-worth, so nothing any human being does is completely selfless.........
From that standpoint, I don't see how a politician potentially taking credit from a drop in unemployment figures that they have no direct influence over is such a big deal? It won't cause harm. It won't lose anyone their home. It won't cause a single child to lose a parent or go without shelter or healthcare. It may influence some short-sited people to feel good about that politician's actions by mistake, it may cause others to be even less enchanted with that politician and administration, so what?
:shrugs:

He knows that. He's too smart not to. This topic isn't about anything legitimate. It is an effort on KJUN's part to rattle some cages and rile people up. He's home, he's bored, so he started a topic with the sole intention of trying to piss off a few people.

He failed, mostly because the "topic" he chose to discuss is as infantile and childish as his reasons for starting it. Had he chosen a better topic, such as something that actually happened, he might have had better luck.

As it turns out, he needs to rely on twisting replies, and hoping nobody is actually reading what he is typing, to piss people off.

That's not gonna work either...

You guys do know that the first Americans, the puritans, were kicked out of England for being such egotistical buttwipes and trying to force people to believe what THEY, the puritans, assumed was religiously correct, right?

It's not like a bunch of people got together, decided that they would fare better and have more freedoms in a new land, one that they could steal from the folks who lived there, they were basically booted out for being turds.

Not that that has anything to do with this bit of nonsense that the OP himself doesn't bother to read.

Says a lot about him right there, not even bothering to read the responses to his own thread.

No, he would have bothered..He was just out defending our civil liberties :D . I'm actually going to go on a limb and just say that this Obama 'transgression' became overly difficult to defend due to it's harmless nature, thus it turned into a broader debate of true Patriotism, which took away from the original argument. That was the kiss of death on this debate, and unless serious some name calling ensues I'm going give this one a life span of 7, maybe 8 pages max...Happy Groundhogs Day everybody; let's all pray for spring :)!.

It could always be worse. They could go out and spend $2.5mil on a commercial to advertise the census ... hey wait a minute doh! :headbang:

Who is "they"? Remember...the Obama Administration didn't have anything to do with the census, the jobs, the formation of the Census Bureau, or the creation of it's budget, finances, Finance Oversight Commitee, and Marketing commitee.

If people are going to pitch a fit at the prospect of the Adminstration maybe, possibly, potentially taking credit for the census, you certainly can't expect that the Administration should take the BLAME for the costs, can you?

That doesn't seem very diplomatic. "You can't take credit for the positive aspects because the entire thing existed long before you were President. But rest assured, we will blame you for every penny spent for it's operations."

No...it's doesn't seem very diplomatic. Unfortunately, however...it DOES seem very typical...:nope:

Speaking of census, has anyone ever found out a good reason why they GPS located the front door of every home in the US?

They would be the .gov. I don't care who signed the check. Frivolous spending of taxpayer dollars in today's economic fiasco is appalling. :nope:

For when all the computer engineers rebuild a digital copy of our world in which we all live - just like the Matrix :)!.
