My member of the week.

This is a new addition to the WIR.... This is entirely bias, and my opinion only. It's just a bit of fun and I want to thank the person for being an exceptional contributor to cs.com and a great person to know.

I have picked Shed'n my skin as the first member of the week. I have many reasons behind this. For one I appreciate and above all respect this woman wholeheartedly. She is fair, helpful to all members, calm, extremely patient and diplomatic. Her participation in recent controversial topics was great to read and at all times she kept a level head and took into consideration every side of every story. This makes for easy pleasant reading amongst the sharky replies, and at times it was a breath of fresh air.

I also need to compliment her photography skills this week. She took some amazing landscape shots during a recent hike which were utterly mysterious and dramatic. A great effort and she show so much potential. I would love to see more and more picture threads by Jenn in the future :)

Thankyou for being such a valued and respected member of the community Jenn, you deserve the recognition as a great keeper and breeder :)

Oh wow thanks Elle! I am both grateful and surprised to be chosen for this honor... especially since my controversial topic ramblings are not always to everybody's agreement :) But I do appreciate the recognition in WIR & I am glad you liked my hiking pics :)

Nice, not the best but cool...
I think the "Member of the Week" is a little unfair to other members; makes them feel left out.

It makes me feel so warm and fuzzy inside to know that after 6 hours work to compile the WIR, someone decides to leave negative comments. Parhaps YOU should take on the role as a WIR writer and try to include every forum member?

It's not supposed to be fair. It's my highlights of the week. Everyone choses different pictures, different sections etc. I like the member of the week idea... some other writer may or may not decide to incorporate it into their own reviews. Some may chose multiple members. Who knows...

Kind of like all the people who get upset cause their snake is not pictured? Or their thread not mentioned?

You can't give awards and/or notoriety to 10K+ members each week......so I don't think many feelings will get hurt over something as small in life as this is. I don't post here much anymore but even if I did, I would not be upset if my name was never mentioned. Maybe it's just me. :shrugs:

its jsut a sanke 4m

You shouldn't be attacking me because of my opinion.
If you call the above post I made an attack.........then your "thin-skin" is exactly what is required to get upset for not getting in the WIR.
In my mind I could see someone getting upset because they tried to be a good member, give good advice, etc. yet they are never recognized for it and someone else is. It's a bit unfair, IMO.
And in my opinion, I could see how most people would not take it that hard if they were not mentioned. I totally agree with you on one thing, a few members may get a tad upset and feel "left out"...........now I think you would also have to agree with me that quite a lot of people would not be bothered with it one way or the other. It's opinions, like you said. You give yours, I'll give mine. Nobody's right or wrong.

As stated earlier.......this was the first week and the first time to be done. It may not be done ever again, or it may be done every week from here on out. But how can somebody start something without a "first"? Should all 13,684 members been mentioned as the "Member of the Week"? Shall a baby take his/her first step with both feet? Should the first minute of each new hour have their minute buddy riding shotgun with them so they could both be first? I mean.......somebody has to be numero uno. It's not like there was a $1000 prize given and now all other members feel like they got cheated out of something. Then again, maybe I am wrong and you are correct and there are a lot of pissed off people reading this and about to quit the forum. :angry01:

Also mentioned above.....I don't post here much and this is a great example why. If you come to an open forum, for all the world to see......then expect to hear and/or see something that you may not agree with. It happens every day, on every site. It's how one handles it that makes the difference. Either change threads or post your feelings.........but you can't get "hurt feelings" or feel "attacked" on stuff so silly and minute (my newt). It still amazes me the things people let bother them these days, especially on a site that can be viewed by millions of people....it's actually ridiculous. I have nothing against you, or anybody for that matter here. You come, you read and you post your thoughts, feelings, opinions, congratulations, sorry's, hello's, goodbye's, etc, etc, etc. No harm needs to arise unless one wants it too, and I have enough of those at home to worry about any more of them on a website forum for snakes.

I, by far, don't think my above statement earlier was an attack, or even close to one.........merely a comment that wasn't liked. And this reply is in the same general mode.....a comment/thought/belief/opinion open for all to see. Again.

The Fine Print:

The opinions and selections contained in the WIR are solely those of the particular week's WIR compiler. These opinions and selections are not necessarily those of the general membership, or of the administrator and moderators of cornsnakes.com. All members are welcome to compile their own WIRs, and post them in the appropriate sub-forums (outside of the WIR subforum). Any resemblance between WIR subjects and actual snakes or people is purely coincidental. No animals were harmed in the compiling of this WIR.

This should be a sticky.

See I would come in here and say; bah! It rocks anyway.
But I'm biased my picture was number one :laugh01:

I'm glad you added the controversial topic to the thread picks. Even if it doesn't continue I think it's a good thing for other members to read, get you thinking about some things you might not have thought of before.

It was just an idea the creator of this WIR had..nobody is being attacked and nobody should feel the need to striker out at another..It was just a new thought put in..It doesn't mean it's going to stay nor does it mean that others don't agree with it..I didn't see any harm in it at all and kind of thought it was a good idea..I thought this WIR was really good and I compliment the creator..I know it must be hard to do so much look up work to find all the big hit conversations of the week..all the best pics of the week..etc etc...I know it can't be an easy task..so whenever I see a W.I.R. up I always compliment and always show my thanks...There is no need to arguements or negative combacks in this section..

Great WIR yet again! Stunning photos and interesting featured posts.
How anyone could seriously complain if their picture, post, or whatever isn't featured, instead of feeling glad about seeing what is featured, is beyond me. It's a service not an obligation.:shrugs:
