Wisconsin people?

Another Badger here! Born in Milwaukee, currently living in Palmyra.

The biggest breeders that I know of in the area are Vic de la Cruz (vic_dc here on the forums), and Southwest Wisconsin Reptiles in Dickeyville (near Prairie du Chien). I'll be producing just a few clutches next season, and then going full bore after that.

Factoid: Kathy Love, author of "Cornsnakes: The Comprehensive Owner's Manual" is from here too, although she's been in Florida for years.

And maybe, just maybe, a certain couple from the Chicaaaaguh area might be moving across the border.

regards,
jazz

Yeah, we were up last weekend looking at places and found the one we liked best in Palmyra, right across the road from that public beach on the lake. We'll be up Sunday to see the inside and sign the lease if we like it. :sidestep:

I grew up in Waukesha and was a member of the herp society in Milwaukee for many years. But I escaped when I was about 23 and moved to Texas for a few years, and then on to Florida, where I have lived since about 1979 (yes, I really am THAT old, lol!)

Wow, you grew up in Waukesha Kathy? Me too..
Well, Madison mostly, that's where I was born. My family moved to Waukesha for awhile and I lived there until I was uprooted and hauled out to Oregon. You probably lived there before I was even born though :sidestep:

Ha - ha! I "escaped" around 1975 or so. It has been a LONG time since I lived in the GREAT FROZEN NORTH! Now I live in the hot, humid, sweaty south. But at least you don't have to shovel all the rain in the summer - it runs off the driveway all by itself. So, although you are still miserable part of the year, there are advantages.

My boyfriend's car got a layer of frost over it about a week ago. We spent about 3 minutes scraping it off with our drivers licences.
I had sudden flashbacks to sitting in the car every morning waiting for it to heat up while my mom took 10+ minutes scraping all the windows of our van off!

The bad thing about Oregon is that when it does snow no one knows how to function. I had Winder Vacation for a month back when I was in high school due to a thin layer of ice that coated the streets.

Wow....I wasn't even born then....LOL! hehe
Unfortunately (for the environment) fortunately (for me) there's not much snow anymore. It's really weird. It's January and it's till raining!!!

I grew up in Oshkosh, then "escaped" all the way to...........Menasha! :crazy02:

The more I get into snakes, the more I don't like it here. Everyone talks about finding snakes in their garage, at work, blah blah...I've never even seen one wild! Oh yeah, and then there's "yeah, I just open the windows and the snakes get the right temperatures"....grrrrr :twoguns:
