WOOOT BARRACK OBAMA

Am I considered a narrow minded idiot for having to agree with Brent and Wade's posts? I guess I am only going to my hell regardless.. *lol* Problem is, thats where I am at now..

I guess a lot of Americans are gonna soon learn why socialism has never worked anywhere else in the world...........

.....but the bad part is those of us that already know the dangers will have to see the same lesson repeated again here. :(

Ironically, this was the advertisement at the top of this page when I was making my last post....LOL

Well, if the Democrats hadn't changed what is taught in schools, a few more Americans may have learned that socialism doesn't work.

When we have had enough, there will be another civil war in this country. The federal government will be almost completely abolished, the states will go back to having most of the power and things will be back to the way our founding fathers intended for this great country of ours. And the best part, we won't miss California or Massachusetts.

PS...I have got to go back and find where this thread changed direction and became good!

Great point. Thank you.

What's the old excuse? "Socialism hasn't worked elsewhere because the right people just weren't in charge." Something like that, and it always makes me LAUGH. OK, so, even if we do have the right people now and it, theoretically, could work, what makes anyone think we'll always have the right people? Of course, my real answer is, "There are no right people to make it work."

What I always wonder is WHY is it that every time the .gov does something to reduce prices (like limit bonuses), prices go up / supply goes down? Look at the historic limit on gas prices. All that did was limit supply! Release of that stupid policy (thanks, Ronnie!), gas went up a few cents, and there was once again a surplus. Why? Because the business could afford to run the plants longer (overtime, maintenance problems, etc.) to produce more gas and maintain a profit just for a few cents more per gallon! Duh. Less .gov = more efficient system.

The .gov was JUST created to protect those freedoms that would have otherwise been lost without such said .gov. That's it. Just to protect those freedoms we would lose if the .gov wasn't here to protect them. Anyone see the irony here?

Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.

I for one never said I wanted a socialist country- of course it doesn't work. I do not want univeral health care, the christian coalition dictating government policy, the government dictating our salaries, NAFTA, illegal immigrants receiving any services or college tuition, or half of the social services we offer in this country. However, being a democrat or republican is not about agreeing 100% with either party. I do want same sex marriage, abortions to be legal, slavery of any race to still be abolished, free health insurance for children who can't help some crack head gave birth to them, and the minimum wage to be in range with the cost of living so people do not have to overuse social services. I firmly believe we should receive in life what we put into it and not be handed anything, but the Republican party has always had an issue keeping the separation between church and state out of policy. God and morality have no place in government nor do we have the right to dictate what a woman can do with her body, who one can marry, or what religions are practiced where. I am for human rights not godly law!

I voted Democrat because I love the fact that I can now marry whatever I
want. I've decided to marry my horse.
Silly. I'm sure that similar arguments were put forth when the barriers to interracial marriage were being dismantled.

I voted Democrat because I believe oil companies' profits of 4% on a gallon
of gas are obscene but the government taxing the same gallon of gas at 15%
isn't.

I guess the situation isn't as simple as this quip would have you believe:

http://www.factcheck.org/askfactcheck/does_the_government_really_make_more_in.html

I voted Democrat because I believe the government will do a better job of
spending the money I earn than I would.

Who knows? I don't know how much of our spent money is unaccounted for in Iraq. I'm not talking about the money wasted on the war effort itself (which was based on lies and shoddy intelligence). I'm talking about the money that just disappeared. I'm not saying Dems were blameless for this, but they weren't alone in their lack of oversight.

I voted Democrat because freedom of speech is fine as long as nobody is
offended by it.

LOL. Remember the silly and disingenuous Republican uproar about that "Lipstick on a Pig" comment by Obama?

I voted Democrat because when we pull out of Iraq I trust that the bad guys
will stop what they're doing because they now think we're good people.

What was the Al Qaeda presence in Iraq before "liberation"? Why aren't we in North Korea? Maybe things aren't as simple as these blurbs would suggest.

I voted Democrat because I'm way too irresponsible to own a gun, and I know
that my local police are all I need to protect me from murderers and
thieves.

Generalization (one of many in this list). Not all Dems are anti-gun. OF COURSE guns need to be controlled.

I voted Democrat because I believe that people who can't tell us if it will
rain on Friday can tell us that the polar ice caps will melt away in ten
years if I don't start driving a Prius.

Silly. I don't remember my local CBS affiliate's meteorologist being involved in any research concerning climate change. There's phenomena out there, and scientists are seeking explanations. But if the climate-change folks are right, then we really do need to be thinking about it now. It's funny that I know a number of religious conservatives who like to throw Pascal's wager around when discussing salvation of souls, but when it comes to salvation of the environment, hedging bets becomes laughable to them.

I voted Democrat because I'm not concerned about t he slaughter of millions
of babies so long as we keep all death row inmates alive.

Another generalization. I'm a pro-choice Democrat, but I'm not against the Death Penalty. I think that it should be VERY carefully applied, but I'm not against it. You could also make this stupid generalization: "I voted Republican because I'm not concerned about the slaughter of babies in select countries that harbor our enemies so long as we control our own womens' choices regarding procreation."

I voted Democrat because I believe that business should not be allowed to
make profits for themselves. They need to break even and give the rest away
to the government for redistribution as THEY see fit.

I don't know what to say about this one. I'm guessing that it's not just an over-simplification, but that it's not even true. I can't remember hearing a Dem espouse this "break even" business model.

I voted Democrat because I believe liberal judges need to rewrite the
Constitution every few days to suit some fringe kooks who would never get
their agendas past the voters.

Well, we know how vigilant the Repubs have been in preserving the Constitution! (I hope the NSA isn't watching as I type this.)

I voted Democrat because my head is so firmly planted up my rectum that it
is unlikely that I'll ever have another point of view.

That's respectful. Does anyone truly believe that Democrats are LESS open-minded than Republicans. Give me a break.

"A Liberal is a person who will give away everything they don't own."

"Conservatism offers no redress for the present, and makes no preparation for the future."

The random quote game is fun, but pointless.

"The problem with Socialism is that you eventually run out of other
people's money." Margaret Thatcher

Ok.

> LOL. Remember the silly and disingenuous Republican uproar about that "Lipstick on a Pig" comment by Obama?

Campaign Reform Act. What else needs to be said?

> OF COURSE guns need to be controlled.

2A. Nothing else is constitutional. BUT, there are 20,000+ federal gun laws already. How much more "control" do you want? How about punishing criminals and leave objects that are enjoyed by the legals alone? If the current laws were enforced against bad guys - and they were kept in prison where they belong - inanimate objects wouldn't NEED to be targeted.

> "Conservatism offers no redress for the present, and makes no preparation for the future."

Not even funny since the idea is that Big Brother isn't doing me any good by SAYING what is best for me now or in some possible future. If I fail, let ME fail. Don't try to make me a slave or a serf and force failure down my throat. Shrug? That's the way I see it, anyway.

Kinky Freedmen for President!

I'm going to have to post more emails if it brings Dean out of the woodwork with both barrels blazing!!! :eek1:
