Just wondering whether anyone here considers themselves to be a health freak, if so, why (not why are you one, why would you consider yourself to be one)?
 
I voted "in between" but I occasionally veer toward yes, if the weather is nice and the bike riding is good, or if I'm having a health scare such as high blood pressure or high blood sugar.
 
I'm beginning to become one, so I voted in between
I'm starting to do more physically and expanding my diet, and I'm enjoying the process. I might be a health freak someday.
 
my idea of a good night is sat outside my house with the people on my street... drinking special brew, smoking cigars, and eating pork scratchings!

so guess what i voted? :D

but i do get alot of exercise at work
 
I have hired a guy to exercise for me. When I start to feel like I should exercise myself, I lie down until the feeling goes away.

I smoke and drink (not daily but I love a good beer or three) and eat all kinds of unhealthy delicious things, but because I work outside doing hard work I usually stay in OK shape. I have been out of work for a long time and it shows. I am hoping my new job will whip me into shape.
 
I exercise at least 4-5 days a week in the spring/summer and more like 3-4 in the winter cause these days it's just too cold to run. I am blessed to really not have to diet, but I do tend to eat healthy because it actually makes me feel better, have more energy, and be less cranky. I still said in-between because I do eat junk a few times a week and have days I stare at my eliptical instead of use it.
 
I used to be a health freak, then I broke my ankle and lost all discipline. I voted in-between because I try to eat healthy when I can and exercise occasionally within my current restraints (no walking more than 2 mi daily or weight-bearing exercise, also no swimming due to the angle of the ankle complex while kicking).

I need to do a better job though. I should use my bike more and cook healthy foods more often. My major is nutrition so I understand the importance of diet in maintaining your healthy, but between a 50-60 hour work week and part-time school, when I am home I just want to sit with my animals and eat something quick.
 
I'm terrible... I smoke, drink, eat crap, over eat, under eat and don't do much that requires effort. But I am no heffalump! I am cautious sometimes, but most of the time I just eat what I want whether it's good or bad. Definitely less bad than good though, oh and I am a beer girl. Oh dear.
 
I just recently started a second diet. I wasn't getting enough food with the first one. :sidestep:

i would say that im a health freak! i work out in the gym every day doing the weights and then i like to go on saturdays sometimes and do some cardio! i play football a couple of time a week and i have been trying to go running a lot more lately as well to get more cardio involved!

as for my eating habits!
i take a protein shake everyday and i eat a lot of chicken and tuna! i try not to eat too much crap but im not overly stricked on myself! i try to save the takeaways for every other weekend and i dont drink too often!

so ye i would say that im a gym freak! lol
im around 6 foot 4, im a few pounds over 16 and a half stone with 20 percent body fat, and my cardio is improving a lot lately. so i would consider myself to be in pretty good shape!

Pretty much what she said, only replace the beer with wine :) I have been trying to eat healthier though. I do enjoy healthy stuff though. I love fish and salads, and I generally hate bad snacky foods, and I'm not a big fan of sweets. My biggest guilty pleasure is pasta though... spaghetti, fettuccine, mac n cheese... all of it! I'm a starch fiend. My work is pretty physically demanding though, so that helps burn off those bad foods. When the weather is nice, I like do do outdoorsy stuff (like hiking, camping, or just going for walks etc) but usually the weather is bad 9 months out of the year.

I bought Wii fit and Outdoor Challenge for my step son for Christmas, and I've tried that out a few times. To heck with the gym... those games had me sweating!
 
My life is a horror story.
Eating and drinking are about the only vices I can enjoy anymore.
I've rode about every bandwagon that will take me.
I've had a hard life, but I wouldn't trade it for the world. :)
I was in martial arts and gymnastics and broke about everything that could break in my 20s.
I eat like a teenager, but don't drink nearly as bad as I used to. I used to live at the bar, and had a destructive lifestyle.
I now just take care of my zoo and pursue my computer and gun related hobbies.
I'm not gonna live to a hundred, that much is certain. I doubt I'll make it another 10 years, but I enjoyed it while it lasted!
 
I used to be much more of a health freak before I got broken! I went to the gym 3 x a week, as well as taking long walks a couple of times a week with the dog and had just started horse-riding, so when I suddenly couldn't even walk it was a total shock. I've always stayed fit and active and enjoyed sports.
Part of the reason is healthy, I enjoy the feeling of a good workout. Part is not so healthy, I'm a bit of a body fascist and my own hardest critic, so I feel the need to stay in the shape I like to be.
I don't drink very often but I do smoke, my diet is variable depending on what I feel like or what shifts I'm working, but is mainly healthy.
Recovering my strength and fitness is still a work in progress, I just have to remember that I'm carrying permanent injuries now that I have to allow for.
