Ball python racks, no problem. They are large snakes, even as babies, so the tolerance without lids is not too big a concern.
Colubrids? Even as yearlings, Corns and Milks are pretty small, able to squeeze through gaps that would surprise you.
So the question... How big an inconvenience IS it to use lids on racks? I really don't want to, but it is hard finding plywood that isn't somewhat bowed - just enough for a little one to squeeze through.
