...you go to the local nursery, and dive under a display bench to try and grab a garter snake! I didn't catch him, but I had to keep myself from flattening my body on the ground to try :)

It was pretty big for a garter too, so I suspect it was a female. Oh well..almost got her.....:laugh01:

My fastest snake in my collection hands down is my wee garter snake, this thing flies out of its cage when I open it up. They are very quick indeed.
If your boyfriend was quick on his feet, he should just calmed down the employees by saying it was one of your hallucination episodes. :dancer:

That was a funny story, and I like the pic. This reminds me of my family trip to Disney in Florida, I was chasing Anoles and snakes every where we went. Better luck next time.
 
I know exactly how you feel. I have tried (and suceeded once or twice) to catch garters. You just feel the urge to dive on the ground and pick up the slithering beast! I have to account 3/5 of my wild snake bites to doing this.
 
What a funny story! I can all too easily see myself doing exactly the same thing....Wait, what am I saying? Logical, sensible person that I am, chasing a garter snake in the garden section? Yeah. Definitely. You know, in some parts of the country they call those "garden snakes." Maybe that one was thought the garden shop was a boutique for her! lol

I really should have caught her! Maybe I'll go by there soon on a warm day and warn them that I will be chasing snakes haha!
 
Ten minutes you say!? That would have taken me at least an hour. The illustration definitely adds to the humor of the story. I'll give you an A+ for using visual media!

Well, if a picture takes me more than about 30 min to complete I get bored, sadly.
Most of my art is done in under two hours. Even paintings. I'm just speedy! ;)
