Love the avatar, did you get that memo?

She is really starting to color up isn't she? The ones here are all across the board, some 05's have more red than my yearling, and some are not showing any red yet. It seems like the stranger the pattern, the less red they have but it looks like your girl may be an exception to that. :shrugs:

Ummm...... so......

Does this mean that I now need to add a Z gene page to my site?? What woud be the gene symbol for that? I would also need the background information, and a good picture of the current line-bred variations (I'm assuming that it's only "standard" Z gene mutations as of right now) of the mutation. LOL! I know that I'm asking a lot from you guys lately, but I want to keep my site up-to-date and accurate. LOL

'Z', or Upper Keys Anery, is some new 'variation' of anerythrism that popped out of Rich's upper keys line....hence Z corns.

Anyway, Carol got some snakes from Rich a while back that were either het or homo for this new form and she's produced them the past few years, I believe. Check out her subforum for some more info.

Btw, she's got a Z snow or two, I believe.

If you want to list all proven genes, then yes. This has pretty clearly been proven simple recessive and non-allelic to anery or charcoal.

You can use either of my pics in this thread, or any of the other few I've posted here on the forum. :)

There is no genetic symbol right now. The letter Z was assigned as an interim tag (as an alternative to """""anery""""" with lots of obligatory sarcastic finger quotes because they are not anerythristic) until a real 'trade name' is used/accepted for it. If you really needed one to use for some reason, I'm sure Z+ and zz could do in a pinch, but I am not publishing any symbols for it... there's no point in getting stuck later on with a symbol that doesn't make sense. ;)

You inspired me to snap a pick of her full sister. No red yet, but she got a slow start. And E.G.G. feel free to use this, and any of my pics you may come across. They have that same weird head pattern that I usually don't see in this line. It must come from Garnet.

how 'bout I use ?+ and ?? until we assign a trade name? I think I have already applied X+ and xx to christmas. I can change that, however, if need be.

Are there any tell tale signs that hets are infact het? Something like high saddle counts and or unusual ventral marking.

~Jeff C.

I have not tested enough animals to see any kind of "het" clues.

Rich has a $2,000 price tag on them. I have a pair I'd be willing to part with for $3,000. ;)

I know that most people with these "Z" corns are probably keeping there projects hush hush but I have been wondering if any one is crossing this morph to okeetees or bloodreds to see what kind of color they can get out of them. I can understand if no one wants to give any info about there breeding projects but I figure it can't hurt to ask. :shrugs:
