I was just browsing and noticed the extremely high amount of birthdays today and then went on to see a lot with 27 beside their names. What was going on during the summer of 1982?

I was only 3 and I have no clue!
 
Did a really quick google...apparently it is the Echo Generation. Basically the Baby Boomers were all old enough to be getting married and/or having kids, so it was like a second baby boom. Technically it started in the late 70's, but it's probably what was going on.
 
Oh the summer of 82, I remember it well. Music playing, people swaying, everybody moving their feet. There was dancing, dancing in the street. And then the music stopped.

:roflmao:LMAO I remember my mom playing that song and dancing around the house to it. Now I know why she was so happy.

hmm.. that was the year I graduated from High School. Do the math. ;)

We were celebrating one whole year of freedom from the presidency of a clumsy raving liberal who was going to "Change" the world.[/sarcasm]
The prior year, a true leader of the free world had been inaugurated, only 20 minutes after which 53 hostages were released after having been captive of Iran for 444 days. The world respected us/U.S. again, and we all felt safe.
What better time to "party"...? ;)

Note : I predict a similar 'celebration' in 2013-14.
 
My daughter was born in 1983. So I remember the summer of 1982 very well. I ripped my life up by the roots and caused events that changed things forever. If I could do it over- I think I might have done things differently.
