I get the feeling that you could be either Wade or he's something to do with this. I find it strange that you've been a member her for so long and yet never bothered to get involved and post, until now. Sorry if I'm wrong but that's just us Welsh we are so cynical.

Yeah, he said somewhere that he is wade's neighbor, lives a couple houses down.
 
Yup, I posted several times that Wade was the person who reminded me of this forum and requested I re-check it out.

He does live down the street from me and he's a great guy.

Aside from all this I really don't have anything to say to people who would whip others they disagree with. A little too KKK (and Pre-K) for me.

Wade was always into whipping. He also always was hitting on the beautiful women here, if we bring him back, then how will I get to take over where he left off?

on a side note kuzco, how is she that must be obeyed doing now that wade has lost one of his outlets?

The reason your friend was banned was because of his tendency to verbally whip anyone that dared disagree with him. Nothing wrong with a little verbal jousting and intelligent debate, but there are rules against the sort of antagonising that Wade was a fan of, and that is why he isn't here...

And I agree with Wayne. I think Wade knew full well what the results of his actions would be, and he made a conscious decision to follow through. C'est la vie. Lord knows he recieved enough warnings and second-chances...:shrugs:

A bit of sardonic upbraiding goes a long way eh tyflier? You deserve credit for recognizing the line that Wade did not or would not. You have in the past been very skilled at running full out right up to it and then backing off just short of crossing it. Forgive me for not believing your opportune opinion about Wade's banning holds much water. :shrugs:

Say what you will about me. There are 2 major differences between Wade and myself. Primairly, when I was told to cease and desist, I did. Secondly, I never followed anyone around from thread to thread intentionally antagonising them the way Wade did to me and a few others.

You may not like me or my opinion, but I never blatantly broke the rules nor did I ever have the audacity to spit in the faces of the moderators. As arrogant as I might be, I was never so arrogant to think myself above the rules. And as argumentative as I may have been, I never went out of my way to attack any other individual with vehemence.

That's why I am still here, and Wade is not.
 
you know folks, i find this thread distasteful. Wade had his warnings, had the prebans and then was permabanned by Rich. He was a big boy and knew enough.
I suggest if you respect the owner of this house, take it to him personally.

Either Rich and the mods have really started cracking down, or it was simply something personal...not everybody was a fan of Wade, and personally it seemed like an opportunity they took advantage of. I've seen much worse infractions go unnoticed in the past, and have personally done worse...so eh. It's a public forum and not everybody is going to like each other, so things are going to get heated at times. It's hard to know where the line is, cause it's different for everybody. I'm not gonna pretend to know the whole situation cause I don't, I haven't been active here for a few years but do check in when I can. I just see a bad precedent here, one I noticed before when I was highly active that led to some rifts. Again, just my opinion.

I can't speak for the mods but I was around when Wade got his perma-ban. It wasn't because he was committing infractions in a thread that was going on, it was because he said something that would get him an infraction and a holiday and then said something really rude about the mods likely actions about that post. Something along the lines of "and you can kiss my..." but I don't really care to go look it up. That was, as I understand it, the reason he got a perma-ban, not because he was getting into a personal-type argument over politics. Those have been dealt with thru "take a vacation" actions this year.

Now, I DON'T speak for the mods or for Rich, but I see a big difference between the two types of infractions. Getting irate and unpleasant happens on forums, and sending people on a holiday cruise until they cool off seems to me to be reasonable. But directing nastiness at the mods BEFORE they have even taken an action is a different kettle of fish and I think it's fine that Rich felt something different needed to be done about it. YMMV.

I haven't seen a tendency toward censorship or stamping out all conflict here. Posts don't "vanish" and people speak their minds very very firmly and don't get sent on holidays. Again, YMMV.

I hope you'll hang around and be active. I'm new here, obviously, but I wouldn't have the post count I do if I wasn't here A LOT and didn't enjoy it, and we have managed to have lots of heated discussions about snakes and about politics without any heavy-handedness from mods or any intervention with Rich. So stick around and see, OK?

To me, I feel like it didn't warrant some grand finale of cursing and name calling. Nanci is as great of a Mod as it gets. Fair, unbiased, and willing to offer advice before handing out infractions. Wade took advantage of that in MANY threads recently. I would not only take my banning like a man, but I would be apologizing like one too. I think that the only reason why this seems like a harsh punishment is because no one directly said "one more time and you're banned". But trust me, if it was Rich Z who had been controlling all of the other threads and giving out warnings, it wouldn't have needed to be said.

A lesson to not mistake kindness for weakness, and not to get too comfortable with disrespecting anyone. It gets to a point where everyone has their limit, and usually the nicest people who have the greatest threshold are the last ones who you want to reach their limit!

I came around to finding some common ground with Wade, so this was nothing personal. If he somehow rejoins again, I'll be right there to welcome him back. But in my opinion, this by no means was completely out of the blue.

Ultimatums like that are not posted in the forum for all to see. It was said in privacy, where it belongs, and on more than one occasion by different moderators. Wade should have been banned a long time ago. His behavior got him banned on other forums and the sole reason why he remained as long as he did on this one was his popularity. However, he refused to listen each time the mod team issued warnings, he continued to rack up infraction points, repeating the same offenses until he just went way too far with his remark to Nanci. He will NOT be allowed back under any circumstances so this thread needs to die (moderator request).
