Daytona Raffle Donations

Thank you, David. Can you include a caresheet? I don't think a lot of people are familiar with these. Will you have maybe a nice photo we can print out to go on the table?

I've sent off letters asking for donations to a couple people that have supported us in the past, but if anyone can think of anyone who would be likely to donate something- gift certificate, whatever- that would really help!!

Another idea is wouldn't it be nice if people attending the raffle could bring at least one little item for a door prize? I'm thinking of picking up some of those vacuum sealing kits at the grocery store- I use that thing all the time!!

I would like to donate a trio of 2011 caramels het lavender, hypo and motley. I am not sure if I will be sending them up or if Carol is though. (They are part of my share of a breeding loan with her).

Thank You Zoo Med!!

I have received confirmation from Andrew Wyatt, president of USARK, that Zoo Med will again match us dollar for dollar!! Yay!!!

That is wonderful news!
And I think I found a nice snakey doorprize I can bring too.

I can't wait!!!!!!!!!

I think a 50/50 raffle sounds great if that idea is still up in the air. If there were table(s) at the show that were selling tickets it could end up being a huge jack pot for the winner and USARK.

I as well may bring a 2011 pair of Butter (50% ph Hypo). Depends on what my sex ratio is as I only was able to hatch out this one clutch of 12 this year. Was just to busy with moving and other things. Figures stuff like that goes down around breeding season lol.

Would anyone be offended if I brought some art I won last year? It is still just sitting in its box I brought it home in.

We got in trouble for selling raffle tickets at the show last year, otherwise the 50/50 drawing would be HUGE there.

I think that sounds like a great idea, but if I remember correctly there was a problem with a fundraising table for USARK last year at the show. But I don't remember what the issue was.
If we had to, we could do the 50/50 at the dinner itself, with someone either seated at a table selling tickets or going from table to table.

Thats right I remember that now. I remember you telling me about it when I came to your table. Or was that Katie. I cant remember that far back anymore. Hit 30 this year. Really starting to notice my age and felling it too lol.

Sorry, What kind of door prizes are you looking for?

I don't know! Anything cool! If it is snake or herp-related, so much the better! But who doesn't love the Honey Badger...

Little stuffed animals, hides, vines, CANDY, books...Anything!

Man that would be sweet if only we could hit that limit lol.

What about advertising the raffle at the show. I would be to difficult to sell tickets for prizes at the show but we could really go all out with some advertising (I.E posters, flyers, even some kind of business card I know my kids love collecting those things lol).

How the door prizes work is the emcee calls your ticket number and you go to a huge display of items to choose from!

Hopefully huge this year...

Belgian chocolates mmmmm!!! Is who ever donated those last year doing so this year. My girl friend and I really enjoyed them.

But whose table would we put them at? Carol isn't vending, Kathy Love isn't vending- pretty much none of us are!

The main problem is our dinner is on the same night as the big auction at the Hilton, and since so many people stay at the Hilton, or are within walking distance, it gets the huge crowds. Our group really only attracts those of us that love cornsnakes, and we even lose quite a few of those people to the other auction, which also benefits USARK (was our idea first!!!) so it's all good. They are bringing in, what, 40K or so??

Last year we had Kathy Love really pulling in the big raffle items because she has connections through KS.com. She's kind of out of the picture this year due to moving away from Florida.
