Aw hell..... So now, just who is it that will be the lesser of two evils come election day?

I was doing a bit of reading on Romney yesterday. (Sorry, I'm at work and can't watch the video, so I can't comment on it specifically)

It's interesting. He used to be a moderate with some pretty fair policies, but over a surprisingly short span of time, he basically went fundamentalist. And then all of a sudden he was a Republican golden boy.

The timing is suspicious to say the least. :/

The video, if true, is quite eye opening, in my opinion.

There is also something going around about Romney and a trip involving his dog. But I haven't taken the time to look into that one. Seems some are making quite a big deal over it, though.

Here is a story about the trip. Which was taken back in 1983....

I know back when I was a kid my parents would do stuff with our animals that people look down upon today. Keeping dogs outside year round is one. "Back yard" breeding show dogs, is another. Oh, and many people look down upon the fact that we raised chickens, pigs, and rabbits for the freezer...

I am in no way condoning what he did, but young people do stupid things. And yes, 36 is still young in many peoples eyes. In fact I know a few people around that age that don't know a whole lot.

36 is still old enough to run for president though lol...I'm really just not a fan of his to begin with. He's not as bad as Perry, Bachman, Santorum, Gingrich, or Cain but he's definitely no Ron Paul. The only thing I'd give him is that he's getting to be well coached. He has yet to say anything that will kill his campaign and he does at least know the right things to say. That, to me, is all the scarier because he knows how to play the game, but since politics is a game I'll at least concede that he at least knows the rules. I also do kind of sympathize with him over the whole "Illegal immigrant, landscaping" issue. He got ripped unjustly on that imo, since he hired a legal company who just so happened to have illegal workers. That can (and does) happen to anybody and it was lame he became vilified for it. He's weird though and I just don't buy him as an honest person...He's super-flaky and changes his views all the time. Definitely the sign of someone who's just in it for the votes.

I rarely see any politicians as honest people. I think the closest one I have noticed that resembles an honest person would have to be Ron Paul. Unfortunately honesty is not the best policy when it comes to running for president.

Romney is a flip flopping RINO. He sounds like a democrat when you listen to most of the audio clips of him when he was governor of Mass. As long as him and paul don't get the nomination, I will be happy. Newt or Santorum would be great.

I WANT Paul.
I'll accept Newt.

Anybody else I will have a hard time pulling the lever for.

I believe the best way to decide who will be best for America is to notice who it is that the tame media tries the hardest to ignore or denigrate. Since the media really can't find any dirt on Ron Paul, all they can really do is try to ignore him. Which is blatantly obvious they are doing.

The ONLY presidential candidate who will get my vote will be Ron Paul, even if I have to write his name on the ballot. And after seeing the way he is being treated by his own party, I will likely be dropping my Republican affiliation and going Independent. I used to be a registered Democrat until that goof ball Al Gore dragged this country into that "hanging chad" fiasco with his team of lawyers.

Once a DEMOCRAT, Rich?
Oh, I am so disappointed in you! :)
(Not really)

LOL!! Actually when Connie and I originally went to register to vote after moving to Florida, they asked us which party affiliation we were? We didn't know. Does it really matter? So we asked if it made any difference. Well apparently, unless you are affiliated with one of the two parties (which is odd, because there are more than two political parties in the USA), you cannot vote in any of the primaries.

So we more or less, just flipped a coin........

Quite honestly, I don't believe either party, Democrat or Republican, means anything even similar to what it historically meant. And neither does "liberal", and "conservative". The labels are still there, they just don't mean the same concepts any longer.

BTW, did you realize that since we are a CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC (no Virginia, we are NOT a Democracy at all), as per the US Constitution, then by definition, wanting to make this a DEMOCRATIC form of government implicitly indicates that by being a proclaimed Democrat, you are advocating the overthrow of the current manner of government as set up by the Constitution.

This hit home to me a while back when I was noticing candidates running under the Communist Party ticket, and I realized that yes, they COULD be voted into office, and thereby exert enough influence on this country that it WOULD actually be Communism we would be living under.

Quite interesting the wrinkles that FREEDOM can throw your way, eh?

I've never officially registered under one party affiliation, but I used to consider myself pretty strongly Democratic. I now very much consider myself Independent. I can't tolerate party labels and their constraints anymore.

I started at 18 as a democrat (family influence). I spent my first 10 or so years as a democrat. Then, as it seemed what I believed differed more and more from their goals, my switch to republican was made. I spent maybe 8 years as a registered republican before going independent. I can't see ever being associated with one party again.

At this point in life I am more of a constitution believing, libertarian, independent mutt of sorts with some liberal views and some conservative. My views are varied based solely on the topic at hand. I don't follow any one path explicitly.

I'm voting for Newt.........

Newt just comes across as a skeeze. They all do really. Ron Paul really seems to be the only principled one. I think his positions are whacky, but I respect his consistency. He hasn't blown with the political wind like so many have.

I always think of this when I think of Newt. Amazing how the GOP screamed and shouted how it wanted a small government, family values, washington outsider, yet so many are embracing Newt:

My dad's been divorced twice. My mom's been divorced once. Are they bad people? I think Newt clicks with other American's because he is flawed. Newt's flawed, and he's made mistakes. Haven't we all? Obama has never been divorced and has 2 little children, but he sure has screwed us! The media is usually very biased against the right and it's very evident. There's tons of dirt on Obama, but will the media show it? Hell no! We all make mistakes, and that's what makes us human.

My issue is that the GOP has branded themselves as the party of family values and scream and shout how dems and gays are ruining the nuclear family. It's just hypocrisy is all.

Simple fact of the matter is, out of all the people who desire the office of the President of the USA, which one (or ones) would YOU believe is telling you the truth every time they open their mouths?

From what I have seen, only Ron Paul fits within that category.... Maybe I've missed some evidence, but so far that is what I believe.

Lying to us is just not acceptable from our government. I don't care what justification they try to use. If we can't TRUST everything our government tells us, then we can't trust ANYTHING they say. I personally do not want LIARS making decisions that affect my life.
