The Other "New" Baby

ArpeggioAngel

Around Here Somewhere....
So you already met our newest addition - our new puppy Tucker. And most of you already know the rest of our furry family - Roxy the rottie and our other cats, Gabriel, Bailey and Kiska. But I hadn't been on the site much if at all when I picked up this little girl....

For two years I worked at the Disney reservation center in Tampa and we had a feral female black cat who hung around the building. Late last April she had a litter of 5 kittens. Four black ones and this one. At about three weeks old, a woman at the building managed to catch all the babies and was going to take them home to foster. However, before she could leave, mama cat managed to get this girl back out of the box and back in to the woods.
About a week later, we spotted her and the following day spent every break out looking for her again trying to get the last baby back. Finally, at the end of the day, mama made a break for it across the parking lot with the baby in her mouth. She ran under a work van with us in hot pursuit and dropped the baby. I dove underneath and grabbed the baby. I took her home and knew right away I was going to have to keep her.

We named her Miko. As a baby her face reminded us of a little raccoon. Meeko is the raccoon in Pocahontas, but I figured unless you were a Disney fan you would never get the reference so I changed the spelling.

She is the craziest kitten I have ever had. Lovable one minute and hell on wheels the next. She and Roxy are best friends and she loves to wrestle and terrorize the bigger cats. We absolutely adore her!

Pics in progression order from when I first brought her home:

Hope you love her as much as we do!

She's really cute! It's interesting how the black on her nose really spread out as she got older!

She's so pretty! I've always had a soft spot for Siamese. Is she very talkative?

KITTEN!!!!!!!!
She is so adorable!!! I love her black feet!!
I wish I had taken more pictures of my siamese when I found him.

Well, I know she isn't a purebred because momma was a black cat, but even being part Siamese, I figured she would be more talkative than she is. She "coos" a lot when she is playing and when she thinks she is going to get treats she will let out little meows.
But the funniest is when she is angry - she has an awesome deep growl and angry meow.
This is her "I am going to mess you up" face:

Mom-cat may have been a black Siamese-if Siamese are inbred too closely, they'll sometimes start throwing black kittens who still carry the Siamese genes, which often don't turn up unless they're bred back to another Siamese or part-Siamese. Your girl looks like she has a lot of Siamese blood. It's also entirely possible that she had a completely different dad than the rest of the litter. Pretty kitty ;).
