Type/Morph?

I'm looking at adopting this corn it's 2 years old, gender unknown. any ideas of morph? Bad picture, i know, but i don't have the snake yet! Does anyone else think this tank is too big for it?

Thanks for the help. I guess I'm about to find out anyways, as I'll be going to pick him/her up on thursday. I'll post a good picture then. What kind of quarantine procedure should i practice? Keep her in her original tank for a while? My rack is almost done, heat tape will be here friday, and I'm hoping to move them all into their new homes asap. I've also got a 2007 1.0 Granite (anery + bloodred, & he's het. hypo, stripe, pied) and 2010 1.0 Bloodred stripe, perfect match for my female coming next Monday.

That snake has dark pupils, at least in the photo. Not an amel.

I would isolate in her own viv, preferably in a different room, for a minimum of three months, and I myself would go more like 6-12. UNLESS you take her to a vet and do testing.

Do any chores of hers- feeding, cleaning, etc. on a different day than the rest, or if you can't, then last. Do not share any of her things with anyone else. (Really, don't share anyone's things). Wash your hands _thoroughly_ after handling her or any of her stuff. Don't use the same scrubber to clean her water bowl as you use for the other snakes, or feeding tongs, or feeding container, or anything.

Motley? maybe? and it's difficult to tell the size of the cage, but honestly.. it's probably hard to have one 'too big' for an adult snake, unless it's bigger than a bathtub.

Ok, i get all that, now here's another 2 questions: I reasonably trust the source the other two are coming from (granite and bloodred stripe), they're from a former breeder who is getting out of it. (1)So should i quarantine these the same way? She has guaranteed me a clean bill of health, not like the other 1, the original topic of this thread. I'm hoping not to, as the rack is basically the only space i have for them. Unless i just use some sterilite bins on their own with human heat pads...then I'd need a third thermostat.
(2) What do you mean by take to the vet? Is that just like a regular checkup? There is a reptile vet not far from me, i could call them, and ask prices, I just need to know what I am asking for

Yeah the tank is not too big... but you can add some more hides/things to climb on if it seems like it's a bit too empty Snakes really appreciate all the space you can give them and in my opinion its almost impossible to give them an enclosure that's too big unless the enclosure is completely bare and the snake doesn't have enough hiding places. Wide open bare spaces will frighten them. Also, if you provide a thick layer of aspen (several inches deep) the snake may choose to burrow and create a network of tunnels through the cage.

The snake does look like an amel, but as Nanci pointed out it appears to have dark eyes in that particular photo, so who knows? Make sure to post pictures once you get the guy/girl home!

And by taking the snake to the vet you can have him/her tested for common parasites and pathogens. If the snake checks out with a clean bill of health and no signs of parasites, illness, or disease, you could quarantine the snake for a lesser amount of time, but the snake should still go into some sort of quarantine for some time regardless, as Nanci suggested 3 months minimum quarantine time in order to protect the health of your other animals.

I would quarantine a snake no matter who it came from- even if it came from my best friend, even if it came from me Most people won't knowingly sell you a snake with a disease, or mites, or parasites, but you can never be too careful.

Got her? home earlier today, weighs in at 384 grams, and her feeding response was instant. I gave her a 19g fuzzy rat, maybe i should've fed her a bit more, I'll make sure i have some her size and feed again in 7 days, then go 10-14 days after that. Also, she's about 4 feet, i don't have an exact measurement, because my beardie started wigging out while i was trying to measure the snake. :uhoh: Had to calm him down before he would go back in his cage (beardie). Anyways, here are some pics. What do I have here? Thanks!

Oooh wow pretty! I love him/her! The eyes and belly checkers say hypo. He/she has really reduced black around the saddles which looks beautiful!

heh I like the pic of her/him in the tote on the scale. The chin on the edge looking up as if to say 'Hi there! So what are we doing here, exactly?' I was once told that if you saw any coloring besides black/dark brown in the belly checkers then you had Hypo, is that true? My Moe has that same sort of checkering, but there's some white around the edges of the black on the saddles.
