So I happened to see an ad on CL for Pomeranian puppies. SO freaking cute, and I asked how much. Here is what transpired:

I get these two emails back Thursday, she doesn't want to sell them, she just wants to know they go to great homes. Since she isn't in the state they are advertised from but she says she IS in my homestate (Missouri). I ask if I can come pick them up myself since (a little white lie) I told her I would be in and out of Missouri for the next few weeks.

I am so impressed with your inquiry about adopting my
babies.. i have been looking for a home for them for a while now but
not only a home but a forever home for them.. firstly let me tell you
about them. Am having two males and two females. Snow is the male
while Anna and Issabel are the females... they are all registered with
the following animal registration club that is Akc and are veterinary
checked and vaccinated and have all health records till date and
housing documents.I am not out to sell them, all i want is to give
them out to a home or family that will be able to spoil them with the
love and care that they deserve, so all i need of you is to assure me
you will take good care of them because i don't want to give you my
puppies) out and discover they are not handled with care. These
puppies were owned by my late grand Mum. So when she died i was sent
here in Missouri for a research project which is going to last for 3
years. I came with them here in Missouri but the nature of my job does
not permit me to take good care of them. That’s why am giving them up
to any lovely home that will be spoiled with all their needs and
treated with love.So you just need to assure me you will take good
care of my puppies. please before we proceed i will like to ask you
some questions if you don't mind? Are you a breeder? Do you have kids?
Do you have a vet around your location? What will be your reaction if
in case they destroy some thing worth 100$? Sorry for all the
questions alright,I just wanna make sure that my babies have a good
and caring home were ever they may be. I will give each of them to you
for $200 each include shipping and the transfer of ownership documents
from my names to yours to enable you the new owner of the puppy

Hi Debbie! Thanks for the response! Where in Missouri do you live? We just might be able to pick him/her up ourselves! My husband Jim is just in love with the all white one in the picture, he had a Pomeranian before we met and has been longing for one since then. We foster animals here in Phoenix, I work for a pet rescue and also pet sit on the side. We have LOTS of love for all animals, and just melted when we saw this baby on the web. We have lots of time to make the best and happiest home for a new baby.

Hi Debbie! Actually, we would like to come pick up the puppy ourselves! We will be in and out of Missouri many times in the next few weeks, at least one of us will be there all the time, then flying home. We are helping Jim's mom move and getting her settled and her belongings sorted. This would work so much better, we will be able to make the puppy much more comfortable on the flight than just being shipped!
I am so excited, thank you again. We have decided on Issabel, she just melted Jim's heart.

I haven't heard back from her yet, I think the "we'll pick her up on our own, we will be in Missouri" threw her for a loop.
I mean really, who "gives away" these puppies, all I would pay for is shipping???
