MIAMI TESSERA !! (highly anticipated clutch)

Then I take it to get that Alabama Tessera male you bred:

Tessera male X Alabama female (Mica)

Are you absolutley 100% sure the Stripe gene didn't come from the Tessera used to produce your Alabama Tessera male ??

Tara said Taz has no hets, so it would have had to come from the Dam.

Without any SMR id's (on either Taz or Gartersnake) Don isn't able to look up more specific details, as he has produced more than 2000 Tessera's.

It appears that the thread about the clutch my Alabama male sired has been deleted, I cannot find it.

Yeah, but Taz & Gratersnake's father could have had the Striped gene UNKNOWN, hence would have been sold/labled as just Okeetee Tessera.
This would have also made Taz & Gartersnake only 50% poss het for the UNKNOWN Stripe gene.
Unless Tara actually bred Taz to a Stripe, she don't know for sure.

It just seems more likely this would be the case, rather than getting a wild caught corn snake from Alabama het for Stripe........then again Mica could have possibly been a escapee from someones collection and found in the wild later down the line.....I guess this could be possible :shrugs:

Ah well, it's no biggie. I just thought it would be nice to know the origin of the Okeetee(s) Don used.
At least I know my Mimai Tessy does have Okeetee blood and can at least be traced back to Don's Okeetee Tesseras.

Thanks so much Heather !!

Who knows? I'm just going by what I was told.
Some of Mica's babies appear to have SK type markers, and I'm going to check and see if SK is in there. Maybe not, but it's worth a shot.
She threw some wacky babies in that clutch.

I do appreciate your help for sure Heather.

How exciting! I'm eager to see those candycane tesseras out of the egg!

Ah, you just don't know :headbang::headbang:

I know it's going to be a couple days before they start emerging, but I've still been checking on the clutch every 30 minutes...........LOL

One of her siblings has the almost banded look that the normal does.
I'll be interested to see what else emerges.

Maybe also from the Okeetee blood ;)

I tell ya, after just seeing Nanci's Tezz, Gartersnake's son, I'm really stoked about this clutch. Knowing there is a relation, this clutch has great potential !!

I don't know why but I just really have a thing for pink corns!

Mine are more red than pink, but you should check out my Red Factor (Salmon) Amel Tessera's. They are out of a Coral Snow and a Red Factor (Salmon) Tessera het for Cayenne Fire. I'll be doing a second generation pairing back to an unrelated Coral Snow next year.

Just an FYI, the Candycane is not pink, it's red on white. Not sure if it's just the pic. or your monitors :shrugs:

I should have added that mine are not Candycanes. LOL
My goal (with 2nd generation) was to hopefully make a bright pink-ish
Tessera, working with the Coral Snows, but we'll see how the RF/Salmon comes into play.

It looks pinkish-reddish to me. Nothing like the pinks of a coral snow, but not as red as some others, either.

Gorgeous, no matter what labels you attach to it! :)

Or my eyesight!

Got the same thing going over here as well, but I used an actual Salmon in the project.

It's gotta be the pic. and I'm sure the fact that it's freshly hatched. I'm sure the difference will be noticable once they shed ;)

I've been talking with Donovan about the Red Factor gene, and he said he and others have proven that it is the same as Salmon.
