just an additional note.... shug seems to be a LOT better now.. thats the carpet python and elysium ( or princess as toyah calls her...) seems to be getting there though not quite as fast as shug...
so heres hoping fingers crossed 2008 brings a time of healthy careful reptile keeping for myself and everyone else xxxxx

there still seems to be some people being nasty behind the scenes but all in all things are now calm and happy within my collection... and frankly i dont give a rats arse what anyone thinks of me... there seems to be on e person in particular who is liek a dog with a bone regarding the fact i declined their offer to collect me in their car and take me to THEIR vets when i suggested i was unsure if MY vet was taking the correct sourse of action...
Im glad i didnt take up the offer of moving my animals from lawries vetinary practice to the other one i was offered to... it would have meant a long journey for me and my two kids and two ill snakes over to the other side of Scotland... which frankly is a really silly idea especially if i would have had to keep returning and attending for follow up appointments...
I was grateful for the offer but it seems I have genuinely offended the person who made the offer by deciding the upheavall of 2 kids and 2 snakes several times a week IF the snakes were NOT admitted was just a bit too much under the circumstances... if further visits were needed.. ( which in actual fact i made about 3 visits a week to my own vet during those 4 weeks) ....can you imagine one person driving hours a day to pick me up and take me to a vet on the other side of the country.. and taking my two kids out of nursery and school just to get to a different vets.... I think personally that would have been ludicrous and just a tad mad...
and can you imagine the letter I would have had to write to my daughters school...

sorry my daughter was absent from school 3 times this week.... I had to take my snakes to a vet across the other side of the country as I was told if i did not I must be trying to hide something... I decided to PROVE to this person I was not lying or deceiving anyone as i felt what they thought of me was more important that my children.
I appologise for buckling under the pressure from the other reptile keeper that mentioned if i DID NOT take my reptiles to her vets that i was a liar and hiding information.... Please excuse my daughters abcences as she was in a car travelling back and forth with me as I could not be 100% sure i would be there to collect her at 3pm each day due to vetinary appointments..

My partners brother was in a bad car accident and was in a coma... luckily he pulled through... but much liek myself after my coma... he has been left with periods of severe fatigue and headaches...
that sort of thing makes you realise how precious life really is...
ive discovered that continual silly posting is pointless and a waste of time... a few posts here and there are sufficient to get your point across without the desire to WIN an arguement or have the last word.. that need I can now leave to others...
( that discovery certainly took me long enough LOL)
I prefer now to read factual husbandry posts which help me to better my reptile keeping abilities...

Elle, why does it say 'perivascular cuffing can be seen in paramyxovirus infection'?
Does it mean that it was present so indicates infection, or that it would have been seen if there was infection?
What an absolute mess, to still not have the full results.
My friend with the red setters is £3000 down from extensive testing, scanning and x-rays of one of her dogs at a vet hospital, with still no indication of why his back end is going. Turns out they didn't X-ray his hips or knees and she can't afford more testing until the insurance pays up. (And he came back with kennel cough and promptly infected the other dogs). So she's still got a distressed dog and now a huge credit card bill.

I honestly don't know Janine. I think it's to say that Pericascular cuffing would indicate paramyxo, however it was not found in Windsor?
Also heres a written letter by my herp vet who carried out the gross autopsy.

Im right in thinking that from my own deductions...
The black milk bacteria or whatever they found was sensitive to baytril which would make sense yeah???
because shug had baytril AND amakin yet elysium only had baytril... and both picked up and are now doing pretty well...
so all in all IF and i repeat IF this was a contagious bacterium that was passed it looks as though it was definately sensitive to baytril...
( dont laugh I really had to work hard at putting that train of thought together LOL)

klootie, i made this genuine offer, because you were moaning your vet was not doing enough. i was warned before i made it that you wouldnt take me up on it. but i said no, she wants the best for her snakes. and what happens, you dont take me up on it. it was a genuine offer, and i would have picked you up and dropped you home. you then start to shout 'bully'. thats crap.
and how dare you try to make out that its really all ok cause everyone has learned from you pair what good husbandry is. most know what good husbandry is without you two shouting from the rooftops. i wasnt bullying you, it was a genuine offer of help which you flung in my face. you notice i cut you off.....right when i realised the person who told me all about you pairs little game was right. i wish you both lots of luck. you are gonna need it after all this i think.

not once did i call you a liar. if i remember correctly, i just totally cut all communications cause i couldnt believe that, once again, i had got someone so wrong. but we dont have to work with each other, and we dont rely on each other for a loaf of bread. lets keep it that way. as far as am concerned you two dont exist, please see me in the same way. as far as you are concerned, i aint on the planet.

oh and just to finish, a dog wi a bone...i dont think so. i have deliberately kept out the way, until tula/elle started posting pics etc telling off her plans, when there were still loads of people waiting to hear the results, and till you came up with the crap you have just written.
i was told you were both to be watched but i gave you the benefit of the doubt, until it dawned on me what i was told by other people was right. am not a good judge of character, and i sure got it wrong in this case.

I will say one last thing to you Lynne... you do not know me personally. You have met me once - and in that time I thought you were lovely woman. But perhaps I was wrong. I have seen a very manipulative, childish side to you. But that really is none of my business. I shall respect your descision and stay out of your way however I will not stop being a part of the reptile community. Nobody has any right whatsoever to request that of me.
I will be breeding my corns as I am pretty positive there is no virus in my collection thank god. You may disagree as much as you like but it is my perogative. You do not have to buy my hatchlings, or ever look at their pictures.
Whatever has been said or told is merely someone elses opinion. And thats ok if you want to take that as the holy gospel. It would have been nice to get to know you better Lynne....

and thats only if the roads are not busy... at quiet times of the day
... in BUSY traffic as you have to go through Cumbernauld and the dreaded VERY busy dual carriageway that can increase to 2 hours due to traffic congestion and road works...
So let’s say we have moderate to busy times enigma
That’s 1 hour and 30 minutes to get there... lets say 45 minutes at vets and 1 hour 30 minutes back
So all in then on a moderate to busy traffic day that would be
3 hours 45 minutes
On a very quite day travelling both ways minimum time would be 53 minutes to get there... 45 minutes for full consultation and 53 minutes return journey
Which by my meagre calculations would be approximately 2 and a half hours give or take a minute?
the distance in fact is a LOT longer than u thought I already worked it out before I considered your offer spoke with my parents about whether they would baby-sit for that amount of time possibly 2 or 3 times a week and they were horrified that someone of any sense would even suggest taking my animals or putting my kids in a car unnecessarily for numerous vet visits for god knows how many weeks..
What if I had both my animals admitted to the Dunfermline practice...
I have travelled to Serpents exotics in towhead Dunfermline before and it took us 3 hours to get home due to the traffic jams on the Cumbernauld roads...
Do you seriously think imp idiotic enough to stress the animals out more than needs be after my initial mistake of feeding them both in the same tub...
SO many people... even a woman from England who breeds hoots said it was nonsensical to take my animals out of a vets they were already in and travel back and forth those times and stances when I have other commitments such as children.... one of whom is only 2 years old Lynne..

Well, thanks, but I deleted my post, I dont want to be dragged into the mess which is this thread, I would just love for the general chit chat forum to rid itself of the big argument pinned to the top.
I think everyone should just calm down, enjoy 2008, enjoy the holidays, and most of all enjoy the hobby not for other people but for yourself.. Snakes are loverly creatures and we should be showing other people that we as a community stick together or at least we support each other.. NOT ARGUING.

I did post this a few pages back... but i seem to have forgotten my OWN sentiments.... perhaps id be best to re-read them again
THIS whole thing is pathetic... no matter what side you stand on.. or whos corner you are in... none of us have managed this situation with dignity or maturity... whether we are teenagers or grannies...
I like to think of myself as a forgiving person and a spiritual person... I have been neither the last few weeks... for that I am annoyed at myself... and only I can change that.....
it is definately time I realised that arguing on the internet is a pathetic distraction from reality..
I no longer care who is right or wrong.... no longer care what has been said or hasnt.. no longer care if all the people I have met that keep snakes this year dislike me... they did not matter before i met them and they certainly dont now...
