Finished building another two racks on Sunday with the help of my oldest. Got finished with them, stood them up next to their predecessors and thought "Is it too much?!?!" Naaah!

I strongly recommend dimmer switches on your flexwatt. No accident happend, it's just easier to control the heat. Not as many up and downs with the thermostats. :) I put dimmer switches inline on the first rack which originally didn't get them last Spring.

Now who's got a cooler science teacher than me?!?!? :uhoh:

Thanks for looking,

Wow, now those are some nice racks!

I like the little swivel latches that stop the boxes being pushed out

They're 2" (long) mending strips (about 1/2" wide). $1.68 for a package of 4 with the screws. Don't think I could find anything more of a perfect fit unless I cut them myself . . . and that'd be too much extra work for $1.68!

Awesome racks!! Gee; I almost sounded like a guy there for a minute. Scarey thought. No offense, guys. All I have so far is a 55 gallon tank, a 20 and a 10 with a "rack" of three little tupperware in the middle of the stand. I did, however, come across two really cool looking steel shelving units and a nice black book shelfish thingy that I brought in the house tonight. All I have so far is five snakes. I am breeding for the first time, however, and am hoping for eggies. Nice job you did on those.

Awesome rack! It's so symmetrical and tidy (I can't stand when racks aren't symmetrical or well balanced, and I hate when they have empty spaces)

I see a "Rocks and Minerals" poster on the wall, along with various other posters. Are the racks in your classroom? Very educational!!

great looking set ups for sure....now if i only had an once of carpentry skills lol

Did I miss the link?... the link to the how-to instructions page? ;)
Nope you didn't miss I it. I never posted one. :)

After having a daughter go through public school I think that might be more important than you know. The classes that were easiest to learn in were the one's they liked. The classes they liked were taught by weirdos like you(snakes?)
Thanks for being that kind of educator!

Funny thing is I know you mean that as a compliment, and I'm proud to take it as a compliment (it's hard work to be as weird as I am!) but sadly there's others that would be overly offended by it!! :) Bummer for them!

With all the distractions out there today, if you can't grab and keep kids' attention, there's no hope of teaching them anything anyway. That rack is awesome (except for the one that got away on the lower left!).

I don't know of any teacher's in my son's district that has snakes in the classroom. I was thinking of approaching the school board and offering all the babies from my aneries (in a couple years) to teachers for free, along with help building racks and putting together lessons on reptiles in general, genetics, etc.

Cheers for weirdos!

It IS hard to work to be so weird. It's totally worth it, though. You must agree - you're putting a lot of effort into it. Having a bit of a reputation for oddity myself, I'm always delighted to meet a fellow "weirdy," as the students say. lol

Seriously, your students are fortunate. And, as so many have said,

GREAT RACK, MAN!!
