And nut jobs. I also believe in nut jobs, THEY WALK AMONG US

Science doesn't seek to explain everything, and to say that most of science is guesses is ridiculous, Paulina. Didn't I read a post from you recently that said that you wanted to be an astronomer when you grew up? Did you really mean "astrologer"? I don't see how someone with as little respect for science as you seem to have could become an astronomer (or a herpetologist-- another field you said you were interested in). :shrugs:Science cannot explain everything, and most of it is guesses.
Science cannot explain everything

To say it "can't explain everything" is silly - noting can explain everything. Not to mention no one said anything about science explaining everything, who would expect it to do that?
I'm convinced that the phenomenon popularly called the "big bang" occurred. There is a lot of evidence supporting it as a theory. How much research into the theory have you conducted? What did you come across that caused you to so easily dismiss it? Before you answer, here's some reading for you:I mean, who believes the "big bang" theory anyway?

It's not as much fun to read as ghost stories, but you're willing to believe those with zero evidence, so give it a shot.

From what I know, it does "seek to explain". The "it's flexible" stuff doesn't make sence in this sentence. Yes, it can adjust itself but it does try to explain things in the world.
To say that you only believe in scientific explanations is silly too.. Saying that nothing can explain everything is a little silly, also. IMO there's explanations for everything in this world, wether science or belief has the answer.
It was mentioned by jamay, I believe... at least I took it as that.
Yeah, I've read "things" against BBT. I'm even vaguely familiar with plasma cosmology theory. Your statement that BBT is "no longer valid anymore" is a bold statement considering that the overwhelming majority of cosmologists still subscribe to BBT theory and denounce PCT. Another interesting point is that no PCT theories have been put forward to explain cosmic background radiation since the Cosmic Background Explorer (COBE) results were made public. These results presented another BIG piece of evidence supporting BBT. I guess the validity of BBT isn't in serious doubt yet...
Natural science is just messed up a bit; but I'd love to work with it.

And who needs a piece of cardboard and a plastic pointer to invite demons and spirits? Here's my open invitation: all demons and spirits are invited to come to my home tonight and commit whatever mayhem and torment they will.
:roflmao: That WOULD kick butt! I don't do coke myself, but I'd buy some for the ghost of John Belushi if he'd drop by!Dude, if it was that easy I'd totally have a beer with the ghosts of dead saturday night live cast members. I mean, they're dead, what else do they have to do? You hear that, ghost of John Candy? You know how to party like a Canadian, lets go for beer and wings tonight. I'll bring the ouijia AND a majic 8 ball, just for kicks.
: DDDDD
I'd like to make a few more points, and they may even be remotely on-topic. :grin01:
If every prevailing scientific theory was to be falsified tomorrow, it would in no way support the claims made by people who believe in paranormal/supernatural phenomena. There would still be no evidence for gods, spirits, angels, demons, ghosts, leprechauns, etc.. Too often believers in unevidenced claims think that by trying to attack or find holes in evidenced theories, they strengthen the validity of their claims. This just isn't true.
And who needs a piece of cardboard and a plastic pointer to invite demons and spirits? Here's my open invitation: all demons and spirits are invited to come to my home tonight and commit whatever mayhem and torment they will. I only ask that they divest themselves of any physical, possessed forms before entering as I don't really want to be cleaning pea-soup vomit or black blood from my carpets tomorrow (ectoplasm's ok). I'm guessing that I'll sleep as well tonight as any other night.![]()
