Pics of my two "reptile expo" beauties!!!

I posted earlier about my wonderful trip to the reptile expo, and my brother took some great pictures of the two beauties I picked up. I have mixed feelings about things I see at the shows, because I really don't like how some breeders and keepers alike, care for and handle their animals. So I take the good with the bad, and I was thrilled that I was able to get these guys.

Here is my Anery Bloodred, I love this little guy!!!

I love his head pattern, and he has such a great face.

I know everyone says this, but the pictures don't do him/her justice.

Does he look Pied sided? he has more white lateral markings in other areas, and some go like 1/3 up his side.

He/she was 25$, and ate like a pro earlier this evening. I only fed him this early because the price was so low, and I was worried he was a non-feeder. Even though I asked about his health, I was still nervous. He looked a little on the thin side, and was very inexpensive, but so far so good. I also did'nt ask to have him/her sexed, because the lady was a little rough handling him, and being so small I did'nt want her to do any damage. I was also going to buy him/her regardless of gender, so I can wait to find out.

I hope you enjoy, because I was syked to get these two for a combined price of 110$.

Great snakes and great pics, man. I'm jealous of the red blood red. I guess it's the child in me, but I like vividly colored corns...and if I were in your place I'd be staring at that darn snake all the time.
And I know the feeling about shows and handlers, etc., etc.,...
I read a thread earlier today about a breeder planning to euthanize 20 problem feeders. My own personal reaction was that I was horrified. And dumbfounded. I suppose dealing with thousands of snakes a year makes one more...jaded. But I'm new and not directly involved in that side of the business...so I can pamper and spoil my baby corns to my hearts delight.
I guess breeders do what they gotta do. Not really into judging others.
Maybe one day you will have a booming business, and go to shows, and share your passion in a positive and individual way.

Yeah, I can't stand how alot of people handle snakes. I was able to gently hold him, and he was so calm. But he was frantic with the breeder, because she picked him up so rough. I move very slowly, cup my hands under them, and make them feel secure. And even the smallest snakes react calmly to my handling, because I'm patient about it, and very gentle.

Thanks, I was very pleased with the snakes I got today. I wasn't sure what I would get for my brother, but that bloodred stuck out like a soar thumb, literally. He had the brightest red, and almost completely diffused lateral markings, and 25$ WOW. I could'nt believe the price, and he ate his 1st pinky like a pro. Both did actually, but I was nervous about the bloodred because of the price.
My brother was of course very happy for the gift, and even though I bought it for him, I'm jealous. But The Anery Bloodred is even lighter in person, and will be gorgeous as he matures. I wanted a Ghost Bloodred at first but I could'nt justify paying 175$, and the ABR looks just as light as most of the GBR's they had anyways. I hope to breed him to my Ultramel, so I can produce Ultamel Anery Bloodred's, and Ultramel Bloodred's. Of course that is a ways down the road, but I haven't bred any snakes yet, so I should have quite a bit of experience by then.
I also very much regret not taking pictures of my other snakes as babies, but these are great ones to start with, and Bloodreds seem to have the most drastic progression photos.

I hope to breed him to my Ultramel, so I can produce Ultamel Anery Bloodred's, and Ultramel Bloodred's.

Those are very nice bloods, that bloodred looks almost motley, but you need to check your genetics predictor as you can't get Ultramels without amel in the bloods. Check out www.cornsnakes.nl for a Genetic predictor that includes ultra and ultramel.

I know, I wouldn'nt get any morphs with the first offspring, unless they have surprise hets. But breeding my ultramel het caramel 66% possible het motley to the anery bloodred, would give me quad hets, ultra/amel/bloodred/and anery, possible het caramel and motley. And then breeding them back would get me some interesting morphs

The New England Reptile Expo. Sorry for the delayed response, I did'nt realize people had posted after I did. Thank you guys for the compliments, I am very happy with both of them. They have since eaten two meals, 1 pinky each when I got them, and 2 each yesterday. So I hope they will grow big and strong, and I will be sure to leave a progression thread as they develop.
