Upper keys, cinder, hypo keys, hypo cinder updates ...

Snakes in designer genes
I'm really happy with this clutch - they're (mainly!) such easy feeders on unscented, and to think I was really worried that they'd all need lizard scented.

Most are now coming up to their second shed, except for the hypo cinder who has just shed. So I thought I'd share a few photos.

Upper Keys baby. These have rich red bellies already - they're going to be bright adults.

Low-contrast cinder girl.

Hypo Upper Keys - these are INTENSE. I've never been a big hypo fan, but the naturally hypomelanistic background of the keys just makes this like nothing else I've seen. I must get a belly shot too - their entire back half is completely red aside from little bits of belly checks.

And finally, the hypo cinder. I can't quite put my finger on how I'd describe his colour - he's darkened up considerably since hatching, but the colour is very different from any other morph I've seen.

His belly checks were invisible when he was tiny ... you can make them out now.

Amazing eyes ... if you can get him to stay still long enough to look into them! :p

They are amazing looking snakes!!! WOW! Eye-openers for sure (and I NEED that this morning - thank you!). Would really love to see more pics as they grow!

I like the hypo upper keys!! Well, I like them all a lot, but that is my favorite. (You know who we need an update on? Starts with a W!!)

So lovely! I think the upper keys is stunning.

Thanks Janine :) I love the keys ... so much that I've got another two coming at the end of the month thanks to KJ! I could do with some new bloodlines for them, since I'd like to keep a "pure" line.

Did you read my mind? I was thinking of asking for an update on them! They are looking great!

Maybe I'm a mind reader and I didn't know it :grin01:

Terrific babies! Thanks for the update! Keep 'em coming!

I'm trying not to take too many photos of them - I'm sure noone needs to see pictures of them after *every* feed and shed! I will keep a good picture diary of how they grow though, they just change so much.

That hypo cinder is just amazing.....those eyes!

They're just something else, aren't they? The crazy patterns in the irises are just bizarre when combined with those dark ruby pupils. I wonder if they'll all be like that? Hopefully he'll have some younger half siblings next year that'll give us a bit more of an idea.

I'm definitely holding back at least one of the hypos - we got three girls in the clutch, I think I will keep one back not necessarily for the cinders, but definitely I can use her in the Keys lines when she's older.

Guess who I took some photos of last night, Nanci? :p I'll post them over in chit chat now ...
