RULES

  1. A maximum of one entry per category per contestant.
  2. Image size 600x450 (no smaller, no larger).
  3. Entry must be taken or created by the individual who submitted it.
  4. Entry or like entries may not be posted elsewhere on the internet, this is to remain anonymous.
  5. No names, copyright information, etc on images.
  6. Contestants under the age of 18 must have parental permission to enter and accept a live animal prize.
  7. Entries must be submitted to [email protected]
  8. Winning images will be determined by public voting.
  9. Entrants may only win two prizes per calendar year.
  10. Shipping on live prizes to be paid for by the winner.
  11. Open to entries worldwide.
  12. Prizes separated for US and International entrants.
  13. Please include your CS.com username with your entry.
  14. 72 hour deadline on picking prizes.

STANDARD PHOTO: No image editing that adds or removes image content will be permitted. You can make MINOR adjustments to the lighting and color. Cropping and resizing is permitted. Color and originally taken black and white or sepia tone images are allowed.

DIGITAL MANIPULATION: To qualify for the "Digital Manipulation" category, an entry must be SIGNIFICANTLY altered. Adjustment of brightness/contrast/lighting/color or basic Filters does NOT qualify for the category. The use of the Filter sets Artistic, Brush Strokes, Sketch and Texture are discouraged without SIGNIFICANT additional editing. Need some help with Photoshop? Try these websites: Photoshop Tutorials & More Photoshop Tutorials. Need a FREE alternative to Photoshop? Try GIMP!

If any of the above rules are not met as listed, an entry can and will be rejected after one request to correct the problem.

Yes. Due to the lack of entries, the Digital Category was combined with the Other Category into a new category called All Reptile Digital Manipulation. Cornsnakes are included in the All Reptile Digital Manipulation Category.
 
Let us say, one wins 2 prizes and the next contest the persons wins again.
Can the winner donate his prize to, let us say, his personal favorite of something?

Or can one not enter after winning 2 prizes?
 
How about T&J or PJCReptiles OR Joel and me.... Can we place one each from the same shoot or do we have to use two separate shoots....
 
Dang, someone is going to get jealous when I don't post their pictures... I'm headed out of town in the morning, but I'll start thinking about what I have to use before then :)

The entry must be taken by the person submitting it. Their would have to be obvious differences in the two photos. As an example, in the Other category for Halloween their was a family of 3 that used the same gecko for their entries, but he/she was setup on different backgrounds, so that was fine. So either you would need different backgrounds with the same animal, or a different animal with the same background.

Obviously I would have no way of 100% verifying if two different people took the pictures, so that would be based on the honor system.

The purpose of that rule was so that the contests do not get monopolized by the same winners over and over. So no, after you've had two placing entries, you may not enter again.

This is one of those iffy rules that we are trying out for the next few contests.
 
is this just for us members?
is there a international contest? if not, can international member enter but just not get a prize unless they happen to win a membership or similar?
 
is the all reptile cat. just reptiles...or can we use amphibians too?..probably a dumb question..just wondering?
 
Dont know if suggested or not. But I think winners should have to choose a prize within 3 days of end of contest. So there is not a drag on like in the photoshop Halloween contest. I'm not trying to be mean but it's ridiculous to have so many people hung out to dry while one person makes up their mind.

I'd also be interested in the question about international participants.
I heard there were few the last time (I was and am still working at my diploma thesis :cry: so I couldn't spare the time for the coool Halloween-theme, sorry...) but perhaps one could make it possible to have e.g. an "extra" membership price an international winner could chose instead of an animal/US-local-gift-coupon (sorry for the word, didn't know better) etc.

Of course I could also participate without the chance of a price, but I think it would help my inspiration ;)
