Can't say I'd be fond of hiking with my dog in the western portions of the state. Here the worst predator to try and make a meal of us would be deer ticks....

Back in '97 my dad and I saw what we thought was a jag while javelina hunting in southern AZ. My dad's buddy at Fish & Game refused to believe us, claiming that they "hadn't been in the area for 100 years". Everybody else told us it was just a dirty mountain lion. So, all the recent activity is quite humorous to us...

It's amazing to think that such an exotic and powerful looking cat once lives as far north as the Grand Canyon, as far west California, and as far east as Texas, not something you'd expect. Its nice to see they're making a come back.
