I taped my newspaper down because it was driving me crazy not seeing what they were doing (nothing!)
i know it was hard to get a good picture of it because of the flash. i also thought that it might be uriates but it was just the smell of it...i dunno, not like anything iv smelt before (not that i go around sniffing snake waste! haha).
my male is very eager! lol hes such a goon though, the amount of times hes tried to hook onto her face! its pitiful to watch!
will it be ok to put these two back in together tonight? or wait til tomorrow night?
Gawd you gave me such a laugh with this statement :crazy01:
Right, now to the point.
Don't worry about leaving them to settle in their own vivariums for some time prior to placing them back together for a second attempt.
As I say, it's still early days & most of my ladies are not 'in zee mood' either as they generally get their act together around mid-March/ April & May. So there's plenty of time yet.
Yup, sounds like your male is very eager, but, not yet experienced & the female knows it
I would put them back together in 1 week. This will not only de-stress them but also give you a break too.
btw. Don't use tape in the enclosure. Use Paper towel for a substrate whilst they are 'pairing up' it is much less noisy!
Regards. Lex

If it makes you feel better, I'm having the same problem as well, females seem to be ready, at least they're doing that lil nasty dance they do, but the boys just want to be friends and cuddle for the moment... isn't that cute....grrrrrrrrr........I am not picking on anyone, but I am glad I am not the only one have the "no action" problem, with their snakes! I got mine up from brumation, she shed and is eating fine. He isn't eating or doing anything but pacing his tank. I know it's normal, but I am concerned. His last meal was in November.
So, I am waiting for her to shed again and I will try to put them together again. Just an idea for you, if the first attempt was a dud!
Good Luck
Wayne

Wow. Do you remember her being so big that you can easily see the skin between the scales on the lower third of her body? That's usually a very good tip off. please come back and post the link as well.posting a new thread in a min with the pictures.......
