Snow at Red Rock

Took these a few months ago and thought I would post these pics to share with everyone. It is not too often that we get to see the desert out here covered in snow.. It was a very interesting winter, I loved it.. I was at work this day but had to take a 3 hour break to see the snow at Red Rock.. Luckily I can break away from work at times like this and have fun.. I wouldve gone crazy if I couldnt get a closer look at this place.
This was taken driving up to Red Rock, I was like OMG every 5 secs I was so overcome by the beauty of seeing such a familiar place covered in white...

Very pretty photos! The scenery and the snow seem to be at odds with one another

Edit: Ack! Sorry I interrupted...

A stream of melting snow. I actually had to walk through this on the way back down as it had doubled in size...

If only cameras could capture the way it feels out there so I could share that with you too... The feeling is priceless..

wow

Never seen snow there before! I used to hike and repell off and around them alot! We were always looking for the highest mountains to repell off ! Nice pictures Stephanie..................:D Actually taking another closer look The little rock before the dog pictures was the one I learned on! I went down it twice then said where are the biggest ones!

Wow, Steph! Those piuctures are AMAZING! Red Rock has never looked so wonderful!

And whether you realize it or not...I think you captured the "feeling"...cold, lonely, completely surreal...it almost looks like it was done Just for you to take pictures of...

Well Done!

YOu know I have never really been rock climbing other than the little bit I did up on Frenchmans, but never any hard core climbing with gear etc.. Thats cool that I have a pic of a rock that you climbed ;) I have a pic of that rock in summer too.. For everyone here that has been to Red Rock, a lot of the pics where taken at Sandstone Quarry :)

You know, its wasnt really super cold.. WEll not freezing :) The coldest part was having to walk through the water and have soaking wet feet for hours after lol.. Thank you for the comments Chris :)

When I come out there to find snakes and take pictures, we'll go bouldering. I'll be sure to bring a couple crashpads. It's loads of fun...I've bouldered quite a bit around Red Rock...

Another set of outstanding photographs. I am desperate to get back out there again. If only it would stop raining :(

Those were some beautiful pictures. I remember when it did all that snowing. My dogs were having fun playing in all the snow. You always have amazing pictures.
