What is my snake?

I've been going through morphs to figure out what the heck mine is, and he doesn't seem to fit in any one category. He could be diffused, bloodred, dayglow

So I'm hoping someone can help me identify my adopted snake.

He is deep orange with red saddle markings, absolutely no black on him whatsoever, with a white belly. His eyes are red and orange as well (also no black). And yes, he is very fat. I adopted him that way, and he's currently on a diet. :p

sorry, double post

He also looks kind of like some sunglows i have seen but i would assume amel before sunglow.

I'd like to see a pic of it's belly and sides. Is the belly really all white or does it have pale green-ish or yellowy checkers?

I would say that's an Amel - I wouldn't quite call it a sunglow. Sunglows are quite bright, and don't usually have any white at all - if they do it may be just a few scales. Sunglows are line bred Amels, just like candy canes and reverse okeetees. :)
It's a very beautiful snake, and i'm glad you're putting him on a diet! He looks like he could use it! LOL

Awesome, thanks for the help! His belly IS completely white, no check marks whatsoever.

And yes, as I said, I know he is extremely overweight. I don't have the slightest clue how old he is (he's adopted...he had escaped his previous home, and lived in their walls, eating every small rodent in sight), but he's over 5 feet long, and I can't quite get my hand around the thickest part of his body.

Since I've had him, I've had him on a diet/exercise regimen, but it's been a slow process. He's lost about 15 grams (not a lot, but I'll take what progress I can get!)

Can you post pics of it's laterals? It looks like a "low expression" amel bloodred. If the sides are diffused, I would lean that way. Only way to know for sure would be to prove him out in breedings.

i think by dayglow, you mean sunglow.

he looks like an amel aka albino

They likely did intend to so Sunglow but there is such an animal as a Dayglow. It is a much older morph of line bred amel but it does exist.

Did I misread it or did you say it has a "white" belly? Are there any checkers on the belly at all? Being an Amel base visually, the checkers will be white or clearish but still visible. Or is the whole belly completely solid white with NO checkers?

If so, you just have an adult Fire (Amel + Bloodred) at minimum.

Take some belly pictures and we can help you more.

It looks to me as a Hypomelanistic Amelanistic. AKA Hypo Amel :)

You could not visually tell if an animal was homozygous for both amel and hypo, hypo simply reduces black pigment, where amel.(albino) takes away all black pigment leaving nothing to reduce. Looks to me like a big fat amel. Good luck slimming him down.

dayglow must be rare then, I can't even find it in the CMG!!

Dayglows are what one particular breeder calls his selectively bred amels that can't qualify as sunglows...they are a rich orange/red but still have some white around the saddles. He is the only one that uses that name that I am aware of.
