COerriccaRN is over and out!

Emily. I simply cannot say it is okay for someone to shoot an animal and feel nothing. I have killed many a deer but after I say to myself "Geez that is kinda sad I had to kill that majestic animal" But yes they are very tasty but I love animals. I do feel sorry that I had to kill an animal that could have done better than my belly

this sorry to say, is something i will never feel for deer or raccoons. Yes, they can be pretty animals at times. but on a farm, they are your WORST enemy. i love the taste of deer, and i love ridding the world of another one. They destroy our crops and our property in general. I also enjoy the thrill of the hunt and tracking and bagging my OWN animal. (especially when its a 14 point buck)
And with raccoons, they are UGLY in every single way to me. I love to shoot them again, for the thrill of it and, defending our property from them. I also love a nice shed covered in coon pelts. ;)

They destroy property. Deer may be pretty, but we refer to them as long legged rats. The are horrible. I am happy to rid the world of either type of animal whenever possible. I will never budge from this stance on the issue until the day that i die.

Because typically ardent hunters don't want the animals they shoot to suffer and feel respect for them. I want to hunt someday, but it will be purely for meat, and you better believe that I will feel sorrow for the life lost, and thankfullness. I do apologise for getting so up in arms, but as a vet-tech, the sort of attitude your *words* carried is the same sort of thing I deal with when faced with:

"Oh, I don't want to treat my cat's easily treated condition because he's OLD."
"Oh, I just want him to die peacefully at home"- Cat with oral cancer eating away his mandible and going up into his eye.
"She's getting my couch dirty and I want to euthanise her"- cat was obese and owner wouldn't put on a diet.
"Yeah, he's gotten kinda skinny but he's old." -- George. Go look at the thread and the pictures I posted.

People not caring about the suffering their animals are going through, or wanting to kill them for spurious reasons is absolutely anathema to my calling. It enrages me because any living thing deserves respect. My snakes are here for my pleasure, yes. But I have a responsibility to them. There's an old saying that you can judge how a society treats its people by how it treats its animals.

So, once more. I'm sorry for becoming upset with you, but maybe you too can see how the callousness of your words is rather like getting slapped?

Posting in your own GBCW thread makes it seem that you are seeking attention and not actually leaving.

Look Emily. I have a reputation for getting into it with people but I am also very smart. i believe a member compared me to Dr. House once. I am very smart, but somtimes I come across very rude and sometimes I try to be rude to get a point across. Who was it that said that. The point is like Chris said we are hardcore passionate about what we believe. I believe all animals are entitiles to rights of some kind. You may not be the point is we will disagree we will agree. But in the end we all are a big online family.

Thats what I have been trying to say, he just said it better.

You posted this on the wrong thread. This belongs in the "Kills Rats" thread. Thanks.

Who said I had to leave the second after my first post. I will leave as soon as I am done talking to everyone.

Emily I guess the point I am making is I respect animals alott. My herps come before me 9/10 times unless my education rests on skipping a feeding one day and having to feed the next day. I have gone to walmart at midnight and had to throw to gether hospitaltanks I spent $50 on mice from pet co to feed my snakes for a week. They will most everytime come before me.

"That statement is the essence of why I am leaving. NO ONE will just accept my veiw (like I have accepted theirs) and just leave me the heck alone about it. I live in the South, the DEEP country. I hunt, I kill things...Heck, EVERYONE around here does. I have been raised around it. Its part of my upbringing. Why can't people just accept and understand that and leave me alone about it and STOP telling me that something is WRONG with me???"

My reply was in direct response to this "oh woe is me". Because you don't accept our views. I was apologising and explaining my stance further, and trying to give you more insight into where *we're* coming from because that statements says you don't understand why we are so adamant. We have an irreconcilable difference in how we view animals.

And I'm done with this llama thread.

Thats a great quality to have. I don't think that way. But my mindset is that at midnight, I am gonna be sleeping. No matter what, unless something is wrong with one of my family members.

But I applaud you for being like that, your pets are very luck to have you.

K...well I'm not trying to create Drama. And its turing into another thread of attacks on me and my veiws...I told you so. So I'm gone. Later everyone.

Then your intelligence has failed you yet again.
