If you are reasonably intelligent (which I know you are!!) you'll have no problem in school. It's basic anatomy, physiology, radiation physics, etc. All nice interesting science. Starting pay in the crappy south right now is $18/hour, with excellent benefits. You'd probably make 25% more up north. Even more in CA. Starting with the 2011 class, you'll be required to retake the registry exam every two years. (Boo!!) You can pretty much find a job anywhere. There are tons of traveling temp jobs, too. If you care to, you can continue on and get a BS degree, probably in health care admin, and you can continue on to a number of different disciplines such as ultrasound, CT, MRI, Nuc Med, Radiation Therapy, (most of which do NOT require a BS) or even go on to Radiology Assistant, which is like a PA that specializes in radiology, I want to say two more years after your BS. It's varied enough to stay interesting for years and years. I've been in it 22 years and right now, love my job.
