'Bout Time, I Say!

I See Snakes...
It's day 86 for our first clutch, and FINALLY we have a tiny nose sticking out. I have been a tad more patient than Tim while we have been waiting, but even my nerves were stretched to the breaking point due to how long we'd been waiting. Of course, it didn't help that everyone and their brother seemed to have clutches pipping right and left at the drop of a hat.

At first I hardly dared hope for an actual pippy - had thought that maybe Tim might have slit a second egg (he slit one around day 80 when we were thinking that the clutch was toasted during our 20 hour power outage during one of the hotter days earlier this month), but not long after I saw a little nose poking out!

To say I'm excited would be the understatement of the year as this was one of the most anticipated pairings that we did. (At least for me it was.)

Here's the pictures:

He was a tad shy about getting his picture taken, but eventually he peeked out at me after blowing bubbles for about 5 minutes straight. I feel like a kid having her first real Christmas, where she only just realizes the significance of the huge pile of presents with her name on it.

Now, if only the rest of them will start sticking their noses out, I'd be even happier.

Congrats! What was the pairing and what are you hoping for hatchlingwise? Other than healthy, robust babies, of course!
Terri
Nothing fancy really, the parents were an amel stripe paired to a bloodred het anery and amel. hoping for some snows from the deal, but only expecting normals and amels.

Both parents are bright red (female is more of a sunglow in appearance), both eat like pigs, and are sweet as can be.

Great news Jenn. It is about time huh? Tim can take a big sigh of relief. Now, you have to be careful for what you wish for. I see you and Tim having 200 babies all at once in a matter of a week. This is good for the rest of us as we will get to see all the little goodies you guys get this year. Again, Congrats!!!!

Congrats!! I can definitely relate to longer than expected incubation times, but 86 days is downright frustrating!! What a crazy year this is turning out to be for everyone...

Wow, congratulations on your first pippy Jenn, hope the rest of the clutch hurries up for you :D

I'm looking forward to more pippy pics as they emerge!

Best wishes,

WooHoo!

Yes it is about time ! I was worried Tim was about to have a nervous breakdown! :grin01: Now he could start to chill!
Oh ya! I forgot to mention I kept telling him to relax everything is going to be (OK) Let the poor things just run there course!!!

Personally I think it was an act of God.. Apprently we had a big of a qauke in my area, not the one that made headlines nearly some 150 miles away..

Regards.. Tim of T and J

Thank you everyone! It's definitely a huge relief to finally see movement. We still have only one pippy out, but I've been seeing activity from several others in the clutch and a second one that is working on slitting. I've got my fingers crossed that they are all healthy hatchlings as I'm still worried about adverse effects from the power outage.

Congrats, on the first pippy!
He/She looks cute in that last photo.:)

Thanks!

The wee little one came out completely earlier this evening and weighed in at a whopping 5 grams (was expecting it to be around 3 from the size of the egg) and appears to be female for now. I'll pop 'her' again once she sheds.

She's really calm and laid back for a new born hatchling too, compared to the hatelings we hatched last year, and I'm hoping she'll stay like that as both her parents are a joy to handle.

Here's a few quick pictures I snapped of her:

Now we're just waiting for the rest of them to get their act together and pip. =)
