Daytona Donations

ArpeggioAngel

Around Here Somewhere....
As we get closer to our annual Daytona weekend/GTG I thought it might be prudent to start a thread for anyone wanting to donate prizes for our raffle to raise money for USARK. I know some have responded in the original Daytona GTG thread and some have pm'ed me directly.

So anyone willing to donate - would be great if you could post here and if you know what you would like to donate - include that info as well.
This way people can start saving for which raffles they really want to enter!

Keep in mind - it doesn't have to be live animals... For those who are not attending the show - if you would still like to donate a prize - it can be goods or a gift certificate as well. Anything can be mailed to me in advance or if it is a gift certificate you can send me an email and I can print it to bring to the GTG.

We may be competing a little bit this year with NRBE as their annual auction is going to be sponsoring USARK as well so I don't know if we will receive as many outside (outside of CS members) donations like we did last year.

Last year we raised $1800 which was matched by Zoo Med. I would love to see us equal or better that this year!

I have a promise of up to 5 baby crested geckos...

of various colors. They need a ride. From the donor's email to me:

"...If you by chance know of anyone in the southeastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware or northern Maryland area that is driving down please let me know so I can contact them and see if they would be willing to chauffeur the gecko's down, if not I would have to ship to someone down there..."

Let me know if anyone can help transport them.

Thanks!

And I have this offer from Montana...

Anyone driving from up there?

"I'm in Montana. I can send a pink Colombian boa, a hypo bci, a hog Island boa, a few Mexican milks, & a couple blairs gray banded kings. All are 2010s...

Dan Eby"

If Carol is vending and/or donating, maybe I can bribe her (read: throw funds at her) to send along my baby blizzard female and charcoal het diffused male.

That would be awesome but I don't know if we have anyone from that area - let alone coming to Daytona.

If you get anyone from out of state that does want to donate though they can send stuff to me to bring out. Or do gift certificates....

I told them they can also FedEx to me early in the week before the Expo. I pick up at my local FedEx, so if I can pick up a few shipments on the same day, I will just bring them with me. But of course, a free ride is better, lol!

Gift certificates would be great for donors with large websites, or dealers with lots of selection. For smaller, unknown breeders, I think having the animals right there at the show would sell a lot more tickets.

Probably up till the day of the raffle!

I am gathering up some little things:

I have Lyme Disease, Syphilis and new this year, Sleeping Sickness.
Also, so far one bottle of Red Belly Black Shiraz.

I will be donating a few woodworking items as well as a live animal donation and maybe even a gift certificate.

Yes, we can accept donations right up until the raffle on Saturday night.

Great, I should have my site up and done by then, I'll either send a gift certificate for graphic design work (business cards, flyers, etc.) or a freshwater fishing trip/tour of FL back-country

Are you going to come to the show or dinner/GTG/raffle?

I'm not sure yet, I hope to be able to make it up there but with classes starting that week I'm going to have to play it by ear. Just in case I'm not able to get up there, can I mail them to you 2 weeks prior.

That would be fine. Fingers crossed you can make it though as it is definately a good time!

I just got word I might have beagle puppies to donate :crazy02: hopefully they're all gone by then lol. I hope to make it up there, especially with all the hype.

It's a Saturday, Butch...No school!!

Just three more years and it'll be no more school for Butch, but until then I have to play around the full-time school, full-time work schedule and that means I start working the weekends :(

We also need door prizes guys. Small cute little gifts - art, books, stuffed animals, plants - whatever....just some neat stuff for door prizes.
Any talented artists out there who want to donate a piece of their artwork?

Also just got word from Mice Direct - they are donating a $100 gift certificate again this year for us.

Butch...

if you (or anyone else) are into graphic arts, would you like to spruce up the sign that I made up a couple of pages back, using some color and even a picture or two? It needs to catch the eye of anyone walking past the US ARK table at the Daytona show, and hopefully convince them to buy raffle tickets. If you have a color printer and could print out a few copies (mail them to us if you don't attend the show), that would be great. Or somebody else can print them, or we can take them to Kinko's.

Who is up for giving it a go and showing off their artistic talents? Bill is leaving for 10 days right after the Orlando show, so he is not going to get to it anytime soon.

Yeah, I'll give it a shot. I wasn't able to flyer that you spoke of though, if you could rehost it here or pm it to me that would be great. Also, what size are you looking for, standard 8.5"x11" or bigger, I only have a standard size home printer so any bigger I'll have to send out. You already have the wheels turning in my head, should turn out great!
