Candy Cane's Outdoor Adventure- Oh No!!!

Little Candy Cane, my 2010 amel Miami het motley surprise, was bored. So I told him we could go out and take some pictures! And Mystery the waterlily was blooming, so that was our first stop. Unfortunately, with my new monovision contact, I apparently have trouble seeing if the autofocus is actually focused. I'll have to put on glasses to shoot snakes, I guess.

Candy Cane is so sweet and calm that I set him, his whole big 5 grams, down in the lily pads.

Then we went to look at other flowers. The elusive rain lily was blooming, and I got a nice tongue shot!!

And then we went to the foot of the Big Pine, for a natural setting photo. Almost immediately, Candy Cane stuck his little nose into a glob of pine sap, and it stuck to his eye like a stringy spider web! And when I went to rescue him, I got it all over my hand, so I could barely pick him up without making matters worse! We abandoned the photo shoot and went back in the house, where Candy Cane had a nice soapy bath and is now sparkling clean and sap-free. Poor baby!

Thanks for looking!

I'm just glad this wasn't a "he moved so quick and got away from me" post! Lovely pics...

I don't ever set anyone down where they could get away. They aren't that fast! Normally a baby this small is too small to set down, but Candy Cane is more interested in taking a close look at everything than running, which is unusual.

That's why I like branches!
Great photo shoot as usual!

Wow- I had to go back and clean Candy Cane's eye _again_ with olive oil and a Q-Tip. At least he'll be shedding in a week or so. He fed tonight, so can't be too upset!
