Where's everybody at right now this year?

TripleMoonsExotic

I <3 Stripes!
I was curious how everyone is doing this year so far. :)

My year has had its ups and downs so far.

I had my first time Snow Motley male breeder lose a hemi due to a prolapse. Proved him fertile though when he fathered a beautiful clutch of 12 with a Ghost Motley. (Speaking of which, can you obviously tell what is or isn't a Coral Snow in a clutch?)

My first female of the year to lay died of egg binding, a clutch I was really looking foward to (Butter Motley x Stripe het Butter). All the eggs were duds too, it was a double disappointment.

My Sunglow Stripe had a sex change, it's a she and not a he so I had to juggle males around. No Amel Stripes this year now, but some fun hets. The first of the Amel Stripes only gave me 2 fertile eggs...But she's done that the past 2 years, so she's being retired.

The other clutch on the ground I have right now is from one of my Stripe h. Anery x Anery Stripe pairings, 15 beautiful eggs!

Now I'm waiting on just 9 other females to lay plus 2 I have out on breeding loan out of state.

Mine have just started breeding, so I've got a long way to go yet for this season. But so far, my pairings have gone pretty well!

Well.....my first clutch resulted in an egg bound female......the variety of egg binding that required an 18 gauge hypodermic, and 16 eggs that were covered in green mold a day and a half later. The next two clutches look good.....but it seems like the majority of my adults are starting late this year. I think most of my babies are going to be hatching AFTER Daytona this year......goody.

Well this year has been very good to me so far. I sure hope it continues because last year I had such a bad season I almost threw in the towel.... then a little Hypo Lav Blood hatched out and changed my mind. :) Funny how one victory can keep you going through a ton of defeats.

Out of 45 possible pairings for the season:

I have 19 beautiful clutches on the ground.
I had one clutch slug out and one slugged out with the exception of 1 good egg.
2 females that I thought were going to lay have shed a second time with no eggs. I plan on throwing a male in with them to see what happens.
16 others have bred and are in different stages from "just bred" to "will drop any second".

So it looks like I have about 6 more to try and hook up, then breedings a wrap and it's time to brace for the hatchling season that will start around April 22nd.

I am most excited over the fact that all three of my Cinder male breeders have proved fertile (including the Amel). This is a big relief because none of them produced fertile clutches last year. And the news of the morning... my Hypo Lav Mot male was proven fertile by a lovely clutch found just hours ago. :) If incubation goes well, I'll have nothing to complain about this year.

I'm expecting my first clutch this weekend, its going to be Jungle x Jungle. So far 8 of my 24 females are preg. just waiting on the rest to ovulate! Should be a good year but we'll see.

Well, my pair bred on February 19th. So I am expecting eggs soon. I also am about to buy another female to breed with my other male. Then I will see if I can get them to breed asap, because it seems most people breed early.

Far behind the rest of you I guess... I've had a couple of pairings, and I have a couple of females yet to shed. I am also looking forward to putting Durango Mountain King pair together... the female is in shed. I'm signed up for a reptile show in July, and I might not even have anything ready yet by then...
One of the females I've bred is a hypo that I'm gonna have to play 'who's your daddy' with her babies, I was kind of an idiot...She's het for anery. I really wanted to breed her with my male het cinder and hypo but she rejected him a few times. I decided to pair her with my male ghost stripe, who bred her willingly. But I decided to try the other male one more time because I really want to get some of his offspring and this time they hooked up. D'oh, if they are normal I will know it was the het cinder male, if they are ghost I will know it was the ghost stripe male, but if they are hypo I'll be stumped...

I had our first clutch on the ground yesterday. I wasn't even expecting it since I didn't think she was gravid yet (last one to be paired up). I'm waiting on one to shed this weekend and I believe at least five more are gravid. Not sure about some of the others. My Miami Motley girl didn't produce last year and hasn't done anything this year with the proven Sunglow Motley boy. :shrugs: Only time will tell.

I have to say the same thing...and that's why I'm a little amazed. About half my girls are seasoned breeders, the other half are being proven this year. I was expecting perhaps smaller clutches or even trouble getting the girls bred, but I'm definitely 2/3 of the way thru the original breeding plans for the season.

5 clutches in the incubator.
2 due to lay early this week.
3 in prelay shed.
10 brooding and very eggy.
3 more females with 2 witnessed breedings.

This has been the easy part...now I worry for incubation...I want to see these little faces. My first are due to pip the last few days of April; oh ya, then the real work begins!

Compared to everyone else, I'm waaaaaaay behind. I'm just starting to bring 'em out of bru.

And out of the four clutches I'm planning, two of 'em will be normals (one het granite, the other het "whiteout"). Nothing like trying to sell normals late in the season, eh?

But this year is my first time. Be gentle with me. ;)

regards,
jazz

Like Jazz, this will be my first year breeding. I pulled them out of brum. on Feb. 25 so I am just waiting for the shed. I am pairing an Opal male with a Pastel Ghost Motley and with an Anery so I will be getting all normals with some nice hets.

I'm breeding for the first time as well. Got my first confimred hook-up yesterday. Second female isn't ready yet though so... we'll see.

First hook-ups of the season yesterday....5 pairs out of 7 introduced. So....now only several dozen more and I'll be done in a month or so.....

Oh wait...then eggs are laid and then eggs hatch and then.....what the heck am I doing?

This is my first time breeding and I'm waiting for my snake to finally shed which should be in the next day or two.

This year will be my first ever breeding, and my female just shed, so I'll be introducing her to the male soon. So far so good.

Well this is my first year and breeding were going to start this week for my 2 females, but then Raya decided to regurgitate her last meal. Aurora will be bred today. Yippy!!

And we'll see how Raya does, but she'll have to wait a while still. Raya is such a pain sometimes!! lol

My snake room has turned into a regular bordello this past week! I've only got 4 more females to breed!
