Hypo lavs pipping...yay! :dancer: Momma laid 17 eggs but I had to pitch 5 of them...they're the only infertile that I know of this year, go figure.

There should be a few stripes (fingers crossed) in this clutch!!! Of course there will be more pics to follow.

Congrats! Looking forward to seeing them, all, out of the egg... plus, adding my crossed fingers, for you, in that you get some Stripes.:)

Thanks so far guys!
...they started pipping late yesterday, so maybe by morning I'll have a few emerged.

Mmmmm...
5 emerged so far, no stripes yet:headbang:

They are beautiful!! Hope you get your stripe!! By the way, what temp did you incubate at?

I've always incubated at a median temp of 82. But my temps fluctuate from 78-87 and the two temperature extremes hold for only a short period daily. I monitor and record temps almost daily. I incubate in a sealed small walk-in closet. The shortest incubation time I've had with this method is 58 days, the longest 68.

Well now seven have emerged and still not a stripe:cry:
Check out the head/neck pattern on little one in the middle...it kinda looks like a Prince sign (or artist formerly known....whatever!)

Well we've confirmed het stripe...but only one out of the whole clutch ended up that way:angry01:
And as you can see...my one and only stripe was the only hatchling not to make it. I noticed one egg with a tiny slit, yet all the other hatchlings had emerged...here's what I found.

What a bummer that the Stripe did not make it.:(
Well, at least it is proof positive that your pair is, indeed, het stripe and ... there are the other beautiful babies.:)

Condolences on your dead stripe baby. That's not the way anyone want to prove a het! Congrats on the other beauties, though.

Thanks guys, I'm bummed...but there's always next. Maybe all the knockout hatchlings in the next few clutches will make up for this one.:bird:
