Took some pictures today... And Solaris began shedding as I took pictures of Phoenix... and Lotus looked so alluring...
Sigh, such troubles I have.

So I thought I'd show them off (again)...

For those of you who got tired of my little friends... well, don't look

First is Lotus, she's one of the few BCI's I ever saw that looks better in Dark phase:

And here's Solaris post shed... I really hope she's gravid(fingers crossed!)

And Phoenix!

Sweet Phoenix:

Angry Phoenix:

and here's Phoenix in some natural light... it came out close enough to his real colors to show:

Thanks for peeking :)

Yup, these are Salmons... their sire is a Sunset Cross from D&M Breeders so the salmon gene is from Rich Ihle's stock.
Salmon is simply one of two commonly referred to Hypomelanistic strains(both of which are co-dominant to one another): The Orangetails and Salmons.
There are spectacular snakes from both "ends"- I simply prefer to keep it as accurate as I can... Hog Isle crosses suffer from enough misinformation as it is.

Thanks for the compliment! :)

Oh I know their genetic history Oren lol. I was just using the term hypo lightly (ha get it...). But I know what you mean :)

Oh my reply wasn't really directed at you- you know your stuff, at some point we had a discussion about hypo in Boas I think, so I remembered that.
It was more of an attempt on my side to make sure the right terms are here for those who know a bit less...
Kind of like Hogg Isle versus Hog Isle...(for those unaware Hogg Isle is used to describe Hog Isle crosses).

She does look big... but she's only 5 feet in length... which really just makes her the ultimate Boa experience as far as I am concerned.

I -so- hope she's gravid!!!

Solaris is looking gravid to me and I know for you that would be really special so my fingers are crossed. As always they are looking stunning!!

More great pics of your awesome snakes, Oren!!!! I love them!!!

Hearing that Solaris is only 5 feet long... SOOOOOOOO makes me want one!!!! Just not in the foreseeable future.

:) I really enjoy living vicariously through your pics, Oren!

You got some cracking snakes there Oren.... Very pretty.....

Thank you, as I told you before... you created a softspot for carpets in me... at least for the Jaguar ones... Maybe you and I will be able to talk business at some point along the way :)

Thank you!

The thing that always held me back in regards to Boas was exactly your concern- size. When I went over to Alon for the first time and held Solaris' sire... I was in heaven... so reasonably sized! And... you need to hold a Boa for a few minutes to see what an absolute joy they are!
Ever since then... I am hooked.
Also, know that we are working with Boas that are even smaller than Solaris... Solaris is actually the second biggest of her litter.
We also have Boas with Jeff Gee in them... the sire is 3.5 feet or so, the dame is 4.2 feet... both breeding adults.
There are a lot of options out there... my goal is to be able to "minimize" Boas in a way that will allow us to handle them safely... without hybridizing or anything... just line breeding as much Hog Isle into them as I can.

Ooo I really hope so. If she is and all goes well... Spiritus would live on... and considering their appearances... the offspring should be breath-taking.
Thank you for the finger crossing!

Now -that's- awesome!
It took me a few minutes to understand that you meant "take care". In Hebrew it's translated to "grab care"... doesn't really work.
You know what? I'm willing to work on my English for the sake of our business

Your English is better than mine and my Hebrew, well I know that somethings cannot translate when I tried the Welsh one, so I guessed the Hebrew would be a bit off... LOL
We'll stick to English for now I think... LOL

aww shcucks, it's always funny to see Israelis who aren't versed enough speak in English... for instance, when they say "death" and "deaf" there's no difference... I mean... It's not like I sound like a pure US/England citizen, but people do understand me well enough, and I do voice the subtle differences...

However, teaching English speakers Hebrew is even more amusing... we have some letters which don't really have English counterparts... thus resulting in them making horribly amusing noises :santa:

That sounds like me learning to speak Dutch.... LOL
The guys I worked with tried to teach me for weeks, they are a patient race of people......
Even so, after a while they gave up saying to me.... You roll your r's, you over sound the 'es' and your tee's are not crisp enough... Then gave up and just spoke English to me.....

I thought you lost solaris? Whas that pic taken before he passed?

If i've been following correctly...the sire for the potential offspring of this potentially gravid female is the snake that passed. Solaris is female? spiritus was the male?

Oren, I want to say, the more I learn about boa's..the more facinated I am. The more I fall in love...there's so much to see, so much to learn...so many options. Your are absolutly BEAUTIFUL. I think I could look at a million pics of one of your snakes and never get tired.
