Buzztail Bite Club!

Nanci

Alien Lover
Katie will say "I told you so!"

Buzztail is a very hungry snake with an excellent feeding response! She just doesn't know when to stop! She got me twice on the way back to her viv, and almost landed a third bite! Got both hands...

I was in a hurry because I was trying to feed everyone before the AC guy got here, so I was whisking her out of her feeding bin when she was still in hunting mode...

That'll learn ya! ;) BTW, what kind of snake is Buzztail? I've not kept up with you ongoing and growing collection. :uhoh:

Troy, she's here on breeding loan from ArpeggioAngel Katie. I needed a bloodred (hopefully het anery) after my bloodred stripe het snow, Ruby, ended up being a male...I'd hoped to be hatching out avalanche, fire, granite and bloodred stripes this season, but now I'm going to have to settle for bloodreds with hets. Oh well. The lesson of checking every snake you buy for sex the minute it gets unpacked has been driven home to me very nicely this year, thank you very much!

Well, she's a most beautiful example of a bloodred! I'm sorry to hear about the mis-sexing of Ruby. That does occasionally happen. A few years ago I purchased an albino "male" and a het albino female hognose. Well, as it turns out, my "male" is actually a female. So that kind of put a damper on some of the plans I had with them. This wouldn't have been so bad had the male I purchased later not turned out to have no interest with the ladies. At least I have Berry, the eternal love machine. I guess everything I produce will be at least het for Pink Pastel. :D

Nice bites Nanci!! I actually managed to go two feeding days in a row without getting bit...that's gotta be some kind of record!

Ya know...I do have Mr. Simon (albino hoggie) who may be looking for love next year....

Thanks Troy! She was a random show pickup and happened to be in a container with some granites that appeared to be clutchmates so we are hoping she proves out het anery this year. IMHO I also think she has turned into a stunning adult snake.

Thanks Troy!

You are quite welcome!

That seems to be the thing anymore with a lot of corns you find at shows, lots of possible unknown hets. I hope she proves out to have some kinda fun genes for you two to play with. :)

Believe me, it's very difficult to stay away from getting more corns. As much as I'd love to have bloods and lavenders, I know I'd get carried away just like I have with the hogs.

I'm sure you meant to post that Mr. Simon would be snuggly-warm in a brand-spankin new tank at my house by next year. Simple typo, I'd bet.
