0.1 '06 Motely(?) Charcoal Het Blizzard

Corny Noob

Proud Momma
MEET NAGINI

:crazy02: :crazy02: :crazy02:

Bred by Ted Thomson at Susquehanna Ectotherms.
Weighs 24g, couldn't quite get a good length measurement because she is obviously a little hesitant and I wasn't about to stretch her out.
I know I should have just put her straight in but well you guys knew how excited I would be.

Of course forgive the photography because this are just quick snap shots.

God I love her, I picked her over her brother.
Go figure I originally didn't even think the charcoal's were pretty.

Hi mom...what the hell is that thing in my face?

Motley...no. Motley would have no belly checks. The saddles would also be connected for a majority of her length, not just the upper 1/3 of her neck. It is very common for the saddles of a cornsnake to be connected towards the neck area without any motley influence, whatsoever.

Still a pretty charcoal, though...

I love the rosy cheeks. For being "quick" shots those are nice shots. Have to keep us updated with this girl.

It's not just the upper part of her neck that was just all I could get in the shot, her saddles are weird her entire length.

Beautiful charcoal! Those rosie cheeks are adoreable. What happened to getting a lav thought! Are non red eyed corns not illegal in NJ?

The only lavs they had were '05s and they were rather expensive *cough*

Ooh she's pretty! I've been waiting all day to see what you got! Now let her settle in!!

yeah.. you got a pretty snake too. congrats. Those pics are adorable. to my untrained eye she looks like a dark ghost, but I guess charcoal and ghost are close in coloring and patterns. Nice purchase.

Thanks :D
Yeah she does sort of look similiar to a ghost, especially having the yellow jaw, but I think the difference is the color when they grow up.

Not really. ;) Of course, the pattern can be anything for either morph, but their colorations aren't all that close. If you look at a bunch from each morph, you'll know what I mean. The first thing I look at when I'm shown a charcoal is the snake's eye. A charcoal (aka AneryB) has a very dark iris around a black pupil; there is very little contrast. AneryAs and ghosts (which are hypo-aneryA) have much more contrast between pupil and iris. The iris is usually light gray surrounding a black pupil.

Funny that we bought from the same place :grin01:
Thanks for the compliment though, but I give the credit to my Nikon S1 not my (lack) of photography skills. I hope to have them a lot better when she is actually settled in.

Congrats, its about time you got your snake:) Shes a cutie.

Thankyou, it actually wasn't that long ago when you think about it though. I wasn't actually planning on asking for the snake till my birthday in october, so this worked out well for me.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Roy Munson again.

If I could I would.. but thank you :D.

I can't believe more of you haven't posted considering how long you guys have had to put up with this. :sidestep:

Finally!

I've been watching your posts and keeping an eye out for the countdown. At last its arrived. Gorgeous wee snake you have there, looks like its blushing with those rosey cheeks. Hope all goes well with your new chum.

Thanks, I miss her I'm stuck at classes right now and won't be home till later tonight.
Makes acclimation easier on her when I'm forced to be away from home.

When I put her in last night she spent about an hour half in half out of her water dish, and then she actually explored.
When I went to bed she was asleep in her warm hide, which is where I found her when I woke up this morning. Glad she knows where the heat is.

I've also seen her drink and pee too, so I know some bodily functions are working :grin01:
