11 bowls for under $9

tricksterpup

I has nuttin to Say.
well folks, I went for a bike ride today and rode to IKEA.
I picked up 6 for the small bowls for 50 cents each and 5 large ones for $1.
I thought it was a pretty good deal. I have bought their bowls before and I really like them I just needed some new bowls to have on hand.

Good idea

In my biased opinion I have to say that was a good dea! My opinion is bised because I recently did the same thing. I bought some smaller dog foog bowls that have openings on the sides that way the water bowl can also be a hide. A couple of our snakes seem to love them as hides. We recently finished our viv (pics to come soon) and the snakes now have numerous places to hide, but some of them can always be found under their water bowls.

Hope your snakies like 'em as much as ours.
Jimmy

Those are what I use, too! Recently I was able to get black (all they had) but previously I was only able to get lime green (again, it was all they had). I prefer the black, but I guess the snakes don't care!

I wish there was an IKEA near me. I buy bowls similar to those from Petco and my snakes love them. The only issue is that they are $2-3 per bowl. And, the snakes love to tip them over LOL. I need better ones.

Yeah, I've been using those for a couple of years now. They used to be 25¢ for the small ones and 79¢ for the large ones, but even with the increased prices its a steal.

I LOVE these bowls. I've been using them since 2003 when I went to Ikea to the first time. tthe small bowls then were only 25 cents each- so I bought tons at once. I also got the bigger bowls for adult corns and juvenile boas.

You can't go wrong with these!

Would anyone be willing to purchase some of these bowls and ship them to Ohio? Our nearest Ikea store is 2 hours away. I'd be happy to throw in an extra $5-10 for the time and effort. I thought we had a connection to pick up some of these but it fell through.

Gah! I wish there was an IKEA by me.

I have similar bowls that I've gotten at Petco and Wal-Mart but they're way more expensive.

StormRose, how far from Chicago are you? I have two IKEAs within a very short distance from my home. I too have been using these bowls for a while. My initial fear was that the snakes hiding under the bowls would tip them because they are so light but so far it has not been a problem. A shame they don't come in blue, right Brent?:poke::D

Don't you guys have problems with your snakes tipping the light plastic bowls over? I had to switch all of mine to heavy duty ceramic bowls.

Not really. The base is wider than the top, so they're fairly steady. With the cornsnakes I've never had one tip. With the bps, sometimes I have a 2000g bp think they can fit under it so they end up crawling under it and tipping it that way. But for the corns they're perfect (and mostly perfect for the bps)
