I don't know if everyone here has noticed it or not, but I am currently running a sale for 25 percent off of everything in the remaining 2005 stock.

http://www.serpenco.com/shop/customer/home.php?cat=273

The coupon code you need to know is "0601".

I REALLY need to clear them out real soon to give me some breathing room now to work on the breeding and egg laying, then when the 2006s begin hatching I will just need the ROOM for the new babies. So take a look and see if you can help me out by taking some of them off of my hands.

Along the same lines, I set up a new section in my shopping cart program where I intend to list some of the 2005 keepers I was holding back to move them out as well. Let's face it, the number I am trying to keep every year is just NUTS! I just can't keep up the pace I have set for myself, and Connie is feeling the strain as well.

Matter of fact, I positively need to get rid of a bunch of adults after egg laying. I don't have a clue what I will move out, but my goal is to move a LOT out of here and just leave the more interesting things for me to continue working on. And in cases where I may have 5 pairs of adults, just cut it back to 1 or 2 pairs. Anyway PLEASE don't ask me what I will have available, because at this point I just don't know. Figuring out what to get rid of is going to be excruciatingly painful, but I really have no choice in the matter. I really don't want myself and my wife to continue working as hard as we have been, for so darn long, any longer. I really need to give us more time to do normal things that married couples do. Not just pass each other several times a day as we both try like mad to get all of the work done.

I can't wait to see what you post, I better start saving!
I've never claimed to be that bright, but I went to browse inventory for the 25% off sale and it looks like you are sold out. If this is not the case, where do I go to find available animals? I just saw links to the Special Offers, Geckos, Supplies, and even Sold Out 2005's, but I couldn't find anything to pull up the 2005 remaining stock. I'm sure it's somewhere completely obvious and simple.
:dunce:

Carol -

I was able to get to it just by clicking on Rich's link in the first post.

The section that used to list the remaining 2005's has vanished, Rich. :shrugs:

AAAAARRRRGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!

So this morning I was on my SerpenCo site and thought that the text for the category section was just a bit too big and figured I would change it. After searching for about a half an hour through the CSS file and the templates, I just gave up and figured I would try the brute force method of just putting the HTML code of FONT SIZE=-1 code around the category header.

Nope that didn't work. And on top of that the program created a duplicate category. One with the non working HTML code displayed as text and the original without the code. Just to be safe, I checked the bogus category to make sure it didn't have my available animal list in there. Nope, just a bogus dupe category. So I deleted it.
:headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

The damned program deleted BOTH the bogus category AND the real category of available animals as well. Where's my Excedrin..............

I have a report in with the developers to see if they can recover the data. Otherwise I need to do another inventory of the animals and try to reconstruct it. Damn, some of those had all the photo links and text descriptions in, that I REALLY hate to have lost. I REALLY, REALLY didn't need this sort of thing right now............

Seems to me this happened before, and I should have been more cautious about the category I was using. If I remember correctly, the last time I was simply trying to put a date in the format of "03/27/06" in the category and for some reason the blasted program created subcategories of "03", "27", and "06".

I think it's about time I start looking around for another shopping cart program.

Bummer, guess I'll have to take tomorrow off and drive over before anyone else sees them :D j/k but could we drive over instead of having them shipped if we want? just for future reference....

Sorry but no. We don't have a retail walk-in shop. When I was getting the building designed and constructed, the contractors asked me about retail public access. Come to find out that it would have cost me about $10K additional to have the building comply with all the laws and regulations, primarily the Citizens With Disabilities Act. Wheelchair accessible ramps, doorways, and bathroom, among other incidentals. And I would have had to allocate part of my driveway for Disabled Parking availability. I said "Thanks, but no thanks!" I had to make this a private facility.

But, even with the above consideration, I did use to have some people stop by here in the past, but after quite a few instances of people either not showing up at all or showing up hours late and completely screwing up my day, I called it quits on that idea. Heck, even when people did show up, they would spend a couple of hours here and wind up just buying a $25 snake. Hate to sound mercenary, but I just don't have that kind of time to spend when there are so many things pressing around here that need to be done.

Well, I got a notice from the shopping cart developers that they are looking into the problem. Got my fingers crossed..... Or maybe it's my eyes crossed making my fingers just LOOK like they are crossed. Another typical Monday....

Duh! Sometimes I am really dain bread. Heck I do backups every night, so what the heck is a "backup" for? I've dropped the database and am rebuilding it now from the backup file. Of course, that file is something like 218 megabytes, so it may take a while.... Sometimes I think that if I had half of a brain, I would have twice as much as I have now..... Took me ALL day before I even thought about this.

Yahoo!! That did the trick! It's back up and running now. :dancer:

Wish I had engaged my brain and thought of this earlier. I swear sometimes my brain really scares me. No telling what other things it neglects to tell me about every day......

Hee hee, you sound like me. I spend half my day trying to remember what I was doing. Very often, I will plan a very efficent way to complete a task but by the time I get to it I forget. It's usually right after I'm finished I start to think... "That would have been a lot easier if I had...... DAMMIT!"

The sad thing is I'm no where near old enough to blame it on "Senior Moments", I fear I will be in big trouble by then. I've heard it's a result of having too many things on your mind... but I think they were just trying to make me feel better. :grin01:

Is the 25% off coupon good on the special offers as well? And if not, will there be a problem if I order some from the special offers as well as the 2005 list at the same time? And one more thing, as I've browsed your site quite often...there is a lone male lavender still listed in the sold out section...is this an error, or do you still have one? Sorry for all the questions.

I have the same question as Susan concerning the coupon and the special offers. I tried to place an order for a pair from the special offer section, and the coupon would not process. :shrugs:

Regardless, I would like to order the pair, but I'd like to know if the coupon applies first.

Edited to add: Placed the order on 1.1 Upper Keys het Anery "C" anyway. If the coupon indeed applies, we'll have to work something out. :)

Sorry, but no, that discount coupon does NOT apply to the specialty animals I have placed on the list. It only applies to the 2005 animals in the regular category area. What the program will do is only apply the 25 percent coupon towards those animals, no matter what else is in the shopping cart. Just be sure to apply the coupon when you are ordering from the regular "available" category when prompted.

As for the lone male lavender, I guess I just forgot to change the category it was in when I was doing my latest inventory. I know I've seen it while cleaning and feeding the critters, so I know he is there. I just have to move him over to the "available" category.

Thanks.

Well, there went my self control. I've wanted one of those Hypo Keys ever since you posted a pic. Only females left to boot. :)

Ya know, Rich, I thought about the backup thing when you first posted... but I'd assumed that being a computer guy, you'd have tried that already...
