What can i use for a different water dish..... I can't find decant sized ones. The one i have currently I'm using for my corn but i need one for another snake and i want to try something different.
I got a plastic tupperware type dish at the dollar store. I think as long as it's low (so it won't get tipped over), and large enough to soak in, easy to clean, and not made of something toxic, it should be fine.
We use the plastic dog food/water dishes that you can get at Target or Walmart for about $1. They have a raised lip so it is a hide and water dish all in one...

It depends on the size of the snake. For babies, I use ramekins, starting at 2 1/2 oz for hatchlings, then 4 oz for the larger ones. You can buy these from restaurant supply stores for less than a dollar each. For yearlings, I use cat watering dishes, the kind with cut-outs on the sides. The snakes like to use them as hides, and they're only $.70 or so at WalMart or the grocery store. Anything larger gets a shallow caserole dish, whatever I find at the fleamarket or secondhand store.
I loooove using dog water bowls (with the cut-outs on the bottom) that I get at PetSmart for $1.99. They come in different sizes, and the snakes love to hide under them even more than thier other hides. I imagine it helps with a temperature variation as well, and maybe it is slightly more humid under them.
