Hi Tim,
Just to clarify a little. Are you saying your male is an Amel Motley het Caramel Stripe? :shrugs:
If so, depending on what you would like to produce, I would say breed him to a Butter Motley or Butter Stripe female. If not in homozygous form at least with some of the same traits as the male in heterozygous form.
Jay

Sorry guys for the confusion. I just went and got his index card.

His mother was a : Amel Motley het Caramel
His farther was a : Caramel Stripe het Amel

He is listed as a : Amel Motley het Caramel Stripe

So know what would be a good cross to pair him with?

So, he is an Amel Motley/Stripe het Caramel (or, more tachnically accurate Amel het Caramel/Motley/Stripe since he'd have only one copy each of Motley and Stripe) . . . (Motley/Stripe are on the same allele).

Anyway, if you had access, the best would probably be a pairing with a Caramel het Amel/Motley/Stripe. It would provide for the greatest compatible variability.

Thanks Brent I appreciate the compatibility answer for my guy. :D
And will be on look out for the right female for him.

*And know we return you to the Dancing!* ;)

Tim, if you find the female you're looking for, you're going to have one heck of an interesting clutch!

There's something to be said for the fun of the low-budget way, with lots of hets (which I'm going to be doing a lot of). Each and every egg is that potential 1 in 16...or 32...or 64...or hey, even 128 or higher! It has to be an amazing feeling when that ONE hatches. The variety of the clutches is just interesting to me, too.

I'm looking forward to the thrill of getting that ONE special baby someday.

Best of luck!

Tim, the hypnotoad (you know, the one that doesn't work on ME), the hypnotoad compels you....buy EXACTLY the girl Brent suggested.

We must talk in a few years.....:)

Hey Beth, is compulsion by hypnotoad the reason I can't stop buying cornsnakes? :poke:

Well, Caryl, that is one symptom, yes.
But Tim sicced the hypnotoad on me because he very badly wants one of my snakes ....and as much as I care for Tim, my boy just ain't for sale!

Hey tim, I think I have the brother of that snake right? I was going to go with the caramel stripe, het amel. let me know when you make another order so I can split shipping with ya.
