I See Snakes...
The first half of this thread actually starts here: Only 1 new Corn, in the Photo gallery section. Where I posted the little boy we got from Stephen while we were out in Anaheim at the show.

The other two critters we picked up don't quite fit in the cornsnake gallery though, because they just aren't cornsnakes. We'd originally planned on coming home with ONE little snake (well not really so little seeing as BP's can't be classified as worms, not even right out of the egg). This little gal came from Heather and we'd been anticipating her arrival since last year. (Advance planning helps keep our minds firmly off spur of the moment purchases. lol).

She's simply gorgeous, but not really in the best of moods right now as she's has a long day in a small container.

Anyway, Here's Cookie the Ball Python (My oldest named her and since I couldn't think of anything more dignified we flew with it. Heck, her boyfriend is named Cracker Jack, why stay with a snack theme right?)

We only managed to get one decent picture before she informed us that she was ready to be left alone. My daughter is the one who paid for her moodiness though, by being the first to get tagged by a BP in the last 2-3 years.

It happened so fast she (My daughter) never even had time to react. lol She's not quite as jazzed about having a second BP in the house right now needless to day. =p

Our last purchase of the day was pretty much out of the blue. Though we'd been considering getting another male for some time, we'd been hemming and hawing about age, breeder, and the male we already have.

We just couldn't pass this boy up though. His coloring will fit in nicely with what we already have and he might actually be ready to meet his first girlfriend next year. Plus, he's from a completely different bloodline than the other 4 we have.

Meet Odin, a 2007 Male Potosi:

He'll be seeing Harley, our 2004 or 2005 Potosi next year to pick up the slack that Thor left behind this year. =)

Oh, and I apologize for the poor quality of the photo. I was having trouble wih my flash all day and it's been driving me nuts. By the time I got it back to the settings I needed - I'd already settled this boy into his temp home and put him into quarantine with the other two newbies. You can bet that I'll get better pictures of him once he's settled in though. =)

Nice snakes, great photos too. I'm trying to figure out which photo you are apologizing for...can ya give me a hint? LOL Love the potosi!!!

The Potosi' picture has some serious flash wash out .. Some setting on the flash is not set right, and its going to take a little bit to get it figured out..

Regards.. Tim of T and J

I don't feel any regret or some sort of purchase hangover buying this one.. He is a welcome addition to the Potosi group, as he has come from a different source than our other 4..

Thanks guys for the kind comments..

Great looking Mex-Mex - I have to agree. Yours are the reason I was so set on getting myself one this year!

did anyone see Carol's "WOUND" from visiting her rosy? That was so funny!

Cute BP!
I remmeber you guys talking about it at breakfast yesterday. My daughter actually accused me of intentionally making her hold Cookie cause I knew she'd bite. And she said it was my fault because she was aiming for my hand, but hers got in the way - cause I was trying to take another picture. lol

Would you believe that these guys aren't as popular as they once were? Though I did see more at this show than I had previously, tells me they are slowly making a come back.

I'm always glad to steer others towards these guys though. They really are something else, and such docile little snakes for the most part too.

Oh, and have you seen the Hypo E's? (I can't remember what the 'e' stands for - but it had to do with the coloring. I think more yellows?) They are interesting, but I really prefer the bright reds on the normals. Wish those pictures had come out clearer so I could have posted them.

Like my husband said, the flash washed out much of the color in Odin's picture - some slight adjustments to the brightness and contrast in photoshop helped reduce it, but I can still see it.

Thank you again for all the compliments folks - Odin is blushing from all the praise. =)

I really like the Potosi pic - and if the colors are washed out... I like him even MORE!

Congrats on the non-corn additions!
