Reading or writing?

Fan fiction, for those who do not know, are fictional stories based around other people's characters from movies, TV shows or books. There are vast online archives of fan fiction. Some are general archives for all types, and others are specific to the "fandom."

In college I used to be really into Harry Potter and Star Wars fan fiction. Now I write and read mostly ABC's Women's Murder Club fan fiction and Law & Order fan fiction.

Just wondering if anyone else enjoys reading or writing fan fics?

Um, the only ones I used to read and write aren't appropriate for the G-rated section of this forum. I'm more of an NC-17 to X type of person. :D Does the word "Slash" mean anything to you? ;)

But yeah. Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, even Eragon when it first came out.

Absolutely yes.... I'm still geeky enough that every few months I"ll check for new Hercules: The Legendary Journeys fanfiction. >_>

Ah, fan fiction. Though Ialways get a kick out of the mature boy on boy fan fiction! :X Like the Malfoy x Harry, or Aragorn x Legolas
EHEHEHE IM SO BAD!

Why does slash automatically have to mean NC-17??

The story I am working on right now is a femslash fic. It has sections that I mark as NC-17, and others that anyone could read. Does the fact that it's guy and guy or girl and girl automatically make it NC-17? Just wondering your opinion of this.

I read HP slash for a while. I have very specific pairings I like, usually going along with evidence from the books themselves. In HP, I used to read (never wrote-- not my expertise) Remus & Sirius fics. I mostly had straight pairings for the rest of HP.

Right now, I am writing a long Cindy/ Lindsay fic from Women's Murder Club, and when struck, I write Alex/Olivia or Abbie/Alex fics from Law & Order.

What sites are you or have you used??

When I read and wrote HP I was at Checkmated.com. My stuff is still there, but most is not complete.

Now I am reading and writing for Passion & Perfection. It's a femslash group based around a livejournal community and a femslash archive.

sometimes people send me links to really odd ones I can't help but read. The only "serious" ones I read myself are the comic book based ones, slash fic with superboy and brainiac 5? I'm so there.

But I'm no writer.

i read some but currently only one that i keep waiting then reading updates for it.

don't like all the stories out but there a certain few that i like

I've never gotten much into fanfiction...but I have a friend that writes load and loads and loads of it...and more loads. I know she's done a lot of harry potter...but also other ones, I want to say discworld, and inu yasha, and others that I don't know of. Heres some of her stuff, but it looks like she hasn't updated it in a long long looooong time. Most of the stuff here is from 01 and 02. As she says though, most stories she never finishes before she starts writing something else.

I used to write my own episodes of tv shows I liked, Airwolf, MacGyver and a few others. For twenty + years I've used actors I like to create new characters in my own stories. I don't get much time to write now, but I do have some great ideas.
